Plans for new stands

I remember this announcement, but it was a while ago.

Can these stands be constructed by March 31st?!?

When does the planning permission expire?

Would i be right in saying we would also require under soil heating?

You do but reading the letter, I don't think that needs to be in by 31st March. Certainly St. Mirren didn't install USH until the pre-season. You can hardly dig up your pitch mid season.

Its just the 6,000 seats you need by 31st March.

Hopefully you'll do it cos I'd love to see Aberdeen in the First Division. laugh.gif

Yep unless the SPL changes its mind (always a possibility). There is or was a link on the SPL site which explained what you need.

Those are old plans. Did they also not rely on a reasonable amount of EU/gov/council/lottery funding which in the end we didnt get?

If we were to need them, I cant see us doing anything other than putting up some temporary stands similar to Gretna, Falkirk and Hamilton.

No way these stands can be erected by August next year never mind March! The permission will expire if the works are not substantially started within 5 years of approval, though renewal approval is a possibility but no certainty.

I think you are correct that these plans required a fair amount of outside funding which I doubt we could currently secure. I believe this was something that Colin Rutherford (before he was appointed to the Board) was involved in with Kenny Crichton.

I also think you are correct that temporary stands would be the only possible solution. QOS are at the crossroads, important that the Board makes sensible decisions. I'll trust Davie Rae to make the right choices...I'm pretty sure he'd never have us playing in someone else's ground in the Central Belt ala Gretna. Better to turn down promotion (though that would suck!) than play at Airdrie! ph34r.gif
