Not happy eith the result today but I must ask why were we trying to walk the ball into the net.
Kevin Harper is a diving cheating wee rat. if we leose to morton in 2 weeks looks like a long hard season.

Well, after reading the Clyde's fans view on the match, i have come to the conclusion i have no idea who any of the Clyde players are.

In any case, there was no need for us to get out of 2nd gear today, it was a stroll and we could have won by alot more. Clyde are by far and away the worst team i have seen this season. Relegation looms.

The game was marred however by the racially aggrivated boo-ing of Kevin Harper. This is something we don't need to see in todays game and i hope Clyde will be issuing a statement of apology.

Stop talkin utter crap ya tosser! How do you know it was racially aggravated if you were sitting at the other side of the stadium. Did you hear monkey noises?

He was being booed because of his willingness to go down under a gust of wind and also for the rash challenges that he made.

It's a while since i've been at Broadwood and i'd forgotten just how strange a ground it is, 90% of the structure is roof which is amazing since it succeeds in keeping no-one dry. i can only assume that it's only that big for the sake of the floodlights along the front, couldn't someone've just introduced them to the concept of lamp posts when they built the thing?

I find Broadwood a really depressing place to watch football. I didnt go to any of our 3 games there last season and missed today just because i dont like going there.
Sao Paulo
Broadwood is devoid of any soul. No denying.

I agree. You get more atmosphere at a funeral than broadwood

We need Willie McLaren

P.S if Marvyn Wilson was back for the game, why wasn't he in the squad? huh.gif

I cannot quite fathom Brown's thinking regarding Alan Trouten. Clearly this player was brought in to provide us with more than just an option off of the bench or to bring depth to the squad. Continually omitting him from the team doesn't add up. If Trouten is to be a success at Clyde, and I've no doubt he has the potential to be, he's going to require game time. Not reserve rubbish mind, full blood, physically subjugated first division football.

As I understand, Trouten came to Clyde on the basis that he would be near to guaranteed first team football. He's not going to develop without it. I appreciate and accept the validity of such arguments as consistency of team selection, the form of Dave MacKay and of course the relatively poor form of the player in question. In light of our recent troubles in the final third of the pitch however wouldn't it be prudent to now integrate Trouten on a more permanent basis. We need to start somewhere with him, otherwise we're effectively wasting a player.

Kettlewell is only where he is now because he's been a regular. Obviously the fact that he's the captain comes into it too but imagine if the same faith had been shown in Trouten?

Dunno...maybe he was on holiday at Disneyland again.

Probably

Higgins must start against Morton. Possibly in place of Brown or Ohnesorge. Get Lowing and Emslie back to where they belong too. i.e Reserve football.

I must echo the previous statements. Clyde is a weird place to watch a game of football. The stadium is lovely, the staff and stewards seem nice enough, good facilities and the like. The programme is top notch, probably the best i've ever bought. But any attempts to get an atmosphere is sucked away. It's sad, but the miniscule numbers Clyde bring must be very disheartining (sp?) Especially when you're outnumbered by people who have for the most part travelled across from east to west to get there

To be fair, I seriously doubt our away support today was so good that it outnumbered the home support.
Sir Kevin Of Kilsyth
I dont think it quite did but I dont think there was exactly a huge gap. Several teams have outnumbered us in recent months including Morton and Thistle. I can really blame casual fans for not turningup as the home performances are dire.

The way the Stand is designed the roof slopes to far upwards (i'd imagine for the floodlights) that the sound just doesnt reverberate (sp) around the stand...also the wind doesn't help.

it is a bit strange. I always wonder if it would've helped Clyde to change their name when they moved to Cumbernauld much the same as Meadowbank Thistle did looking for more of an identity in the locale of the stadium. but yeah, i'd presume you were probably correct on your take on the numbers, it probably felt like more in the way end because a third of the stand was shut, would probably help in the home end if you's closed some of the end blocks of the stand pulling the crowd together a bit more. not that i'd be too chuffed having to down the front right enough.

Is it any wonder we can't get fans to the game with the inept performances we have been witnessing since Brown took over. We have only won 2 league games at Broadwood since he arrived.
An awfull lot of our diehard fans don't even come to home games anymore and i am a baw hair away from joining them.

Yes, it's done Meadowbank Thistle the world of good. If you consider being consigned to the history books a good thing.

I think my work here is done.

In all seriousness, it was as comfortable a victory as i have seen in my days watching the pars.

The 2nd half was like a training session.

The only supports that have outnumbered us have been Partick and Morton. There were nowhere near 500 Dunfermline fans there - I doubt that there were 300. We need not have opened that stand - they could have been accommodated comfortably in the Main Stand with the home support, as are Queens when they bring a bigger support than that.

rolleyes.gif Clyde's support is woeful, but what can be expected when loyal fans such as, Hebridean can't even be bothered attending home matches, due to his deep obsession with the, Dundee Derry Boys?

Pars crowd yesterday.
From where I was sitting it looked as though there was about 200 Clyde fans.
I was going to count them if the game got too boring.

Regarding the atmosphere maybe turning the music down a wee bit might help?
It was totally ridiculous.

Clyde again had a shocking home display, losing easily to a team who didn't look that good themselves. Only McKay, Gemmill,Clark and possibly McGregor get pass marks from me and they were mainly for effort rather than ability. Kettlewell shite, German pish, Brown hopeless, Waddell not much better and the 2 Rangers players are that bad they could get a game for Rangers. But we all know who wont be dropped next game, it's going to be a long season.

I thought McGregor looked like a very decent defender for most of the game. Someone needs to tell him that he's not Thuram-esque with the ball at his feet though.

We won comfortably but should have killed the game off. If Clyde had scored the one real chance they had in the 2nd half, we'd have had 10 minutes of totally unnecessary panic.

Clyde were rotten on Saturday although I don't think Dunfermline were great shakes either, although they always looked the likelier to score. I see John Brown has alluded to "jobs on the line" unless it improves, which might be what they need because they really were abysmal. Barring one or two chances, I think Paul Gallacher could have been sitting next to me and no-one would have noticed.

With hindsight - a poor appointment.

Seems like we didn't need to be. Sounded all very comfortable for us, finishing the game by half time.

If we aren't playing well but still winning, I'll take that thank you very much.

I agree, but tbf his team selections are getting there.

I doubt he'll take Emslie out of the team, but at least he acknowledged that Higgins played well on Saturday so hopefully we'll see more of him in the coming weeks.

If he takes the captaincy from Kettlewell and keeps Dave McKay on the right, then I can see some potential in this side - especially when players like Gibson, McLaren and Wilson are back to full fitness

He also recognises our urgent need for another decent striker, so hopefully he can address that in January and eventually rid himself of the 'dud' tag that he's rightly earned so far.
