Right I know basically the square root of sod all about mobiles, currently have an old Nokia PAYG which I probably stick £20 in per month, but it's on it's last legs and I want a new one. I don't want to spend a daft amount of money, don't need any fancy dan stuff just something that's reasonably small and reliable and cheap.

Looking about all you seem to see is ridiculous handsets with about a million buttons, ugly interfaces, look big and clunky and have loads of useless features. I don't need the internet on it, or the ability to play mp3s or anything like that, just a regular everyday mobile that won't break and that'll last me another 5 years.

What can I get for less than £50?

Try Asda

orlandoblue
Try a samsung d900

This one is £60 but i'm sure ebay will have them cheaper. It is a very good phone and is light and slim.

Just the job for you.

I had to send my W580i back to O2 after the battery cover was clearly faulty ever since arrival. I've bought a Sony Ericsson K800i from the Carphone Warehouse for £79.95 (already have an O2 SIM) and although a wee bit chunky, it's fantastic. I also got a 1GB SanDisc for £12.99 and because I've topped up £140 in the last 12 months, I'm due £14 back from O2 upon upgrading smile.gif.

You could always look at a contract phone for about £20 p/m, could get some decent phones for that price and no doubt get some good deals on minutes + texts, depends on your usage right enough.

Usually this will save you the hastle of paying for the phone and then putting money in it.
