Well, surely you have to? What if you were to sit in my seat? I'd sure as hell tell you to GTF.

Such was the clamour for tickets that I mistakingly blocked someone in with my car!

I doubt there'll be too many tickets left after today.

Jack, you were there at quarter past 9!?

And I'd happily move out of your seat, but my allocated seat isn't anywhere near any of my mates so I'm not going to sit on my own. I can't see much people caring about their seat numbers to be honest rolleyes.gif Plus we will want to sit with the rest of the people that sing.

There were 5 people there at that time, the reason I went so early is because I was working later so I wanted away as quick as possible.

If you and your mates bought a ticket at the same time one after the other you would have received those tickets in sequence.

Alright chaps? Just had a read of this thread and it appears there's more of an undercurrent to this one than normal derby match stuff. The name Broon and the numbers 13 and 22 seem popular (I'm feeling like Mystic Meg here!!!).

What's the story?

Tickets for the game are £13.

East Fife had announced that tickets for the game would cost £22, although fans who attended the Stranraer game would recieve a voucher, granting them entry for the normal £13. This was announced over the tannoy at the their game against Ayr.

Cue much uproar from Rovers fans (rightly so) and a mega long thread on here which I guess can be found if you wish to pursue it. Anyway, a few days later, ot was reported that East Fife had backed down and the price would be £13 for all. Basically, they shat out after Raith fans talked about boycotts. East Fife fans were quick to turn around and say it was all a windup laugh.gif .

Hope this helps smile.gif

3 points.

1. It was the reaction of most East Fife supporters that convinced the club to change its mind, nobody considered the Raith fans capable of organising a boycott over this, and a fair few tickets for the away end would have been sold anyway.

2. Even if you could have organised a boycott, I doubt Willie Gray and the East Fife board would have been at all bothered, you'd have got no tickets at all if there was no rules against it.

3. I doubt any East Fife fan claimed in seriousness that it was a wind up, and any comments as such could only have been tounge in cheek.

From reading this and AFTN, the general opinion seemed to be that most East Fife fans didn't give a f**k if we were being charged £22 or not.

None of this is neither here nor there now really though. I don't have a season ticket, therfore I will not be attending this fixture.

Hi Harry,

Couple of points to add to the guys above.

1. Some Raith Rovers fans (well, this one at least) are exceedingly bitter regarding the previous actions of the East Fife Chairman.

2. Some EF fans think that their Chairman is trustworthy and everything's fine with their club (and will be after he leaves the club) because he has given them assurances.

This has led to some intolerance and general bad behaviour down here on the 2nd Div site due to our dislike of the man in question and EF fans having faith in him.

Normally I try and stay apart from the inevitable as the whole thing is rather unbecoming but I hope this explains a little more.

Bayview has a capacity of 2000 plus the segregation so about 1800 , It would have been a smart move from East Fife if they got a Big temporary stand put in for this game would it not huh.gif

Raith took about 2,600 to their home game against us. Let's assume they'd take 2,000 max to Bayview if numbers were unlimited. 550 will get in anyway. You seriously think it would be worth our while to buy and erect a temporary stand just to accomodate 1,450 tops. Gate money would be £21,750 for the extra 1,450 fans, I doubt we'd be left with anything significant once costs were deducted, if anything.

Yes, it's a shame that some Rovers fans can't come to the game but it's not East Fife's responsibility to go out of their way to solve that problem.

Maybe Raith can dismantle one of their stands and set it up at Bayview so they can come to the game. They wouldn't even need it back really, I doubt there'll be many crowds over 5,000 at Stark's anytime soon.

Anyway, this is about a game between teams in the top half of the table, it's of no concern to Arbroath supporters.

His time as a member of the board was not a very stable one. During his time we almost went bust and had to sell Andrews, Tosh and Burns to Livi for £100k to stay afloat. Gray also cast the deciding vote on Anelka, which as you well know, proceeded to be a complete and utter disaster. Thanks to the poor way the club was run, we are also paying a £3k a month mortgage for our stadium, another damning indictment of Gray's time as a director. He isn't solely responsible for the way the club is at the moment, but he played a big part in it. Anyway, his next actions are the ones which increased the hatred....

Gray was eventually bought out and then proceeded to start pumping his money into our rivals and signing our ex-players. He is also on record as stating it would be the best day of his life if he beat us.

Are there not other board members who voted for Anelka still at the club?

In hindsight, of course the Anelka era was a disaster, but I suppose you can't blame a small lower league club for giving him a go, it was potentially high profile and I suppose he must have talked a good game, the club weren't to know that his superstars that would make you the 3rd force in Scottish football were actually French five-aside league players and London sunday league players. He probably even claimed he'd sign his brother, who probably would have done okay in Div1...
