Anybody know the date for this?
HibeeJibee
Sunday 16th November. (It will postpone league ties, there is a full card that weekend). The weekend will be an international weekend in odd years i.e. next year QF/SF/Final all on international weekends.

Partick won't have a game that weekend now, as they were due to play County in Dingwall on the 15th November.

I'd quite happily travel that extra half hour or so to East End Park if it meant we didn't have to be marshalled by the Tayside police / Stewards.

Will the cup final venue be at Perth ?! Seems the most logical.
EastFootball
It will be McDiarmid. By far the easiest venue for both sets of supporters to get to.

That's a relief - the less games we have the better...

Ross County website says it's Perth, as many expected.
Haitch
Indeed. SFL website says below:

"The Final will be played on Sunday, 16th November, 2008 at McDiarmid Park, Perth with a 3.00 p.m.kick-off and further information including admission prices will be announced on this website shortly."

oh joy. there goes my self inflicted embargo of tayside sad.gif
wearealldoomed
Disappointing, but hardly a surprise.

I dount it'll knock too much off our crowd though. I'd expect between 2000 and 3000 to travel, of whom only a few hundred will have had any experience of Tayside polis.
WhoAmI?
i predict we'll take about 2000 to perth

Good to see a rare bout of sensibility from the authorities.

Hope the Airdrie guys put their greavances against Saints to one side and go to the game. Everything is what you make it and even if its not the biggest of finals, its still a cup final. We had a great day last year. Hope everyone does this time too.

The attendance will be 5000 max then as i doubt we'll take more than 2500.

personally there's no ill will from me to thee. the stewards/police, at PSJ, come across as not football fan minded tho', and therin lies the problem. it's not easy being 50years of age, reasonably dressed, stone cold sober (drive to games), accompnied by a minor and still feel amprehensive about attending a fitba game. outwith the fear of my team being gubbed that is. wink.gif but somehow "your" lot manage it every time. sad.gif

Can't wait for it biggrin.gif

Doubt the crowd will be much over 4000 though.
thejailender
Ticket prices as listed on the Ross County website.. I assume they will be the same for the Airdrie Support.

QUOTE
Prices for the ALBA Challenge Cup Final have now been set and will be £16 for adults and £8 for concessions. The concessions policy has been set by the SFL and we have been advised that student ID & proof of age are required as spot checks will be in operation on the day.

yep confirmed on the airdrie website that it is £16 for adults and £8 for concessions. what is the concession policy? under 16s and over 65s or something like that?

Agree with that

I see Airdrie Fans have been allocated the main stand, with County fans in the ooposite stand. The two stands behind the goals (1 each) will only be used if/once the other stands are filled.

P.S. - And another farcical decision, the match is all ticket even though they expect the stadium only to be half full - you would think they would have a pay at the gate for any neutrals who just fancy taking in a game of football.
WhoAmI?
your right jailender. many may think to go on the day and won't have tickets. pointless for having an all ticket game ...

It makes perfect sense to me.

Our main stand holds 3750, yet if over 2000 turn up for a pay at the gate game, it's a bit of a mess getting everyone in and seated on time. You then end up with scattered empty seats that stewards have to direct people to well into the first half.

I'd expect the crowd to be around 5000 which will get pretty close to the capacity of the two open stands, so ticketing the game should avoid any bottlenecks.

When we played ICT at Perth, the crowd was around 5000. We all but filled the main stand but had 150 behind the goal at most. ICT half filled both stands they had. If the same numbers turn up this time, there's no justification for opening all four stands, but only having the two open could lead to a mess in the 15 minutes before and after kick off.

I imagine that tickets will be available outside the ground on the day, as they were last time. If not, open the stand behid the car park end as pay at the gate for latecomers and neutrals.
WhoAmI?
good point WAAD but people are just going to sit anywhere anyway no matter the seat number most probably

The Perth Gestapo won't stand for that!

In the past, the club has been pretty helpful in allowing groups of fans and to buy blocks of tickets together. I don;t see that being a problem.
WhoAmI?
juat hope we bring a decent crowd - 7,000 would do nicely

Going on the number we took to the final last time there is absolutely no danger of another stand needing opened for the County fans.
