Following the current injury crisis and pre-season reports of a budget deficit, it has now been officially confirmed that Dundee F.C. are more skint than an 8-year-old's bollocks.

Speaking today, Alex Rae said, "I've been told there is no more money, so I can't bring people in on loan just now. I do have a defender on trial and we'll probably use him on Saturday, so at least that's something."

The Bennet take over is also looking increasingly uncertain. Are the Dees worried?

We already knew our budget had been used up.

Do you not have work to do??

Spoke to a Dundee youth parent who told me as of October the club is intending on charging all parents of all youth team players from U13s to U17s age levels £20 per month in order to play for the club, all parents will have a direct debit account set up which will withdraw £20 a month from the parents account into a central club account.

said parent is now looking for another club for his son.

I'm simply providing a platform for discussion. It seems to be a bit of a knee-jerk reaction on your part to define that kind of selfless public service as obsessive, but suit yourself.

Feel free to answer the question, by the way.

I've already put my "graft" in today. Just killing time 'til 5 now. I thought I might as well challenge myself intellectually while I'm at it. tongue.gif

We are obviously totally knackered right enough. I dont even care much now.
Mind you by the time the relief road has gone through your stand and the rest of the ground has been merged with the remains of Mr McDiarmid's land at Newton of Huntingtower to form the new western edge retail park you wont be looking so chirpy either.
It is alledged sites being looked at for you include Methven.

laugh.gif Indeed. By you. Just now.

We obviously didna budget for any more signings and we all knew money was tight. This is really just going over old ground. The club is actually getting back on even keel so nothing to major to worry about.
VitalDees
It's no big news that we can't afford any more players - we are running a a large loss and can't afford what we currently have if it wasn't for investment from people over the last month we could have been out of business everyone knows the situation is dire and this topic has been on numerous times, nothing has improved since then.

Er - your right!

Dont discount the W.E. retail park though. The credit crunch has probably postponed it but it is on the agenda.

If we need money for players get ridd of Rae I'm sure hes on quite a bit of money.

Therein lies the rub. Surely it would cost a few bob to sack him?

Anyway, is it not a bit early to be thinking of change of manager? Dundee are hardly out of things. huh.gif

Expecting morals from a manager, especially a manager with an attitude of Alex Rae, is too much to ask.

I'm sure various clubs in this league can't afford to bring in more players. It's just more newsworthy if it's a team that was recently in administration.

Exactly. Along with the fact we were supposedly one of the pre-season title favourites and are going through an injury/performance crisis...

Fucking hell, i'll probably spend more money on tomorrow night's sesh than we have left for players. Mind you, the above news doesnt come as a huge surprise.

As for the Bennett takeover, as a Dundee fans of over 20 years (mostly of hell) i've come to expect boardroom level uncertainty as almost par for the course. eg, Angus Cook, Andy Drummond, Ron Dixon, the Marrs ... all spectacularly out of their depths as owners/chairmen etc.

I'm sure they're now relying on a huge away support at Dens from Perth to keep them afloat.

Sooner or later Rae will realise that the club have to deduct the cost of his alcohol from the playing budget.

I don't technically "owe" it as yet, it isn't over until the fat lady sings...
If the results go Morton's way I will expect nothing less than a standard Dundee approach to creditors from yourself. rolleyes.gif

We only do so because it is "down the road" and the games are usually very entertaining. Also, McDiarmid Park is not the only ground where we've taken close to the 1000 mark.

LOL
Mr Roberts
You know, part of me feels a tinge of sadness that we have to cover this ground over and over again. The other part of me feels that I have a duty ro reiterate to the Dundee fans on here that there club is fucked. Totally and hopelessly fucked.

I trust Mr Bennet has the sense to simply let this mortally wounded beast find a dark place where it can curl up and die in relative peace. It will be better for everyone in the long run.
Fast_Action
I think that they should do some fund raising - how about a sponsored march? Or sponsor some of them to play the Sash over 24 hours on their flutes?

Not feasible. Pluke-ridden wretches would be disappearing down the disease ridden alleys of the "Hulltoon" with the money buckets. No, thievery in Dundee is about as popular as suicidal teens in Derby.
