Loads of stuff edscribing 2009
I'd agree entirely with every word.
Would have to say that I much prefer it on the 360 to the PC though. I'm a PC fanboy who always had a console and one game: ISS. The console experience shits all over PC, I even had it on PC first before 360 but still much prefer the console - although my PC version of the game doesn't have the advantage of giving me access to patches.

Online play definitely needs improved, but I generally found it no bother to find 3 or 4 lagfree matches in a session with 2008 - albeit having taken me about 5 minutes to actually find and join a game.
Been quite worried about this, as loads of kids I know have been banging on about FIFA09 being much better, but I thought it was maybe just the usual starry eyes and that I was safe in my unending belief that the substance of PES brutally crushes the style of FIFA.
No worries though, cos (demo anyway) I think it does enough to stop me from even trying FIFA.
Definitely don't like the way there seems to be no jostling at throw-ins or corners - it looks terrible, hopefully just not implemented in full version yet?
Keeper kick-outs are a million times better, the ball floating in mid air reastically instead of pinging at light speed towards players. Free kicks vastly improved, driftable in to the box rather than the wildly overhit or massively off target efforts previously. Players are stronger, passes more accurate, players more intelligent and I love the wee hand in the air touch - didn't know that was knicked from FIFA tho.
All over the place there seems to be little tweaks to make the game more intuitive. Only negative I've found I havent' seen mentioned is that the dummy shot seems to have been changed, and I'm not impressed with the change. I much prefered the porevious 'drop-shoulder feint' effort, but now it just seems to look like the player continues running.
@SF: I just don't see what the big leap forward you are looking for would involve.
