been done before and Pro evo got about ninety percent of the vote but i anticipate it will be much closer now.

Pro Ev for me as it seems to be much more reactive and Fifa is far too slow. i may buy both though. money permitting.

I have owned all FIFA games from 99 and I think 3 PES games. Overall I would say FIFA is better but then again I dont play either enough to compare them.

FIFA 09 is a HUGE improvement on FIFA 08 however. It's FIFA for me

WTF is the same about last year's? It's a football game, that's about it!

the game play is pretty much exactly the same. same pace. same passing. same shooting. same unbelievable keepers. only thing different is the headers. It is a completely uninspiring demo.

Much much faster and better game than last years.

Looking forward to the PES demo to compare it to fifa.

I hope that PES can one day return to the heights of its series '5' incarnation which was the watermark for the series on the consoles, possibly even the greatest ever console football game.

FIFA tore it a new arsehole last season though, and unless PES is radically improved from the awful 08 version, it'll do the same again this year.

It is much more like Euro 2008, but you said it was the same as last years Fifa, which is massively improved from.

Not much of an improvement over EURO2008, but that was pretty great.

yeah sorry i meant the last game by EA sports. i thought Euro was good too but i really dislike how unresponsive it is especially in defense. i reverted back to PES2008 quite quickly. as i said i will probably buy both but if i end up playing Fifa more i will be very surprised.

I've been Pro Evo since the days of International Superstar Soccer. Will buy Pro Evo 2009 but may also give Fifa a wee blast for comparisons sake.

I played the PES2009 pc demo last night, it looks a carbon copy of 2008, which is a bit disapointing, but will have to wait until the final version to give it a proper workout.

I am getting quite sick of the limited amount of teams compared to fifa. Also that it hasnt been making the same kind progress and improvements that fifa has either.


I played fifa 08 for only the first time about a couple of weeks ago, and was largely impressed by the standard of it. If the hype about the next one is true then i could be switching my allegiances to them come the next vote between the two games.

Pro Evo. Simply because when you turn like Cruyff once did, it takes FIFA about 3 touches to get the ball back under control.

And it has Cruyff.
