Full Version: Wanted - Fanzine Readers And Producers!

I work for an organisation which designs and produces exhibitions for museums and other spaces. A colleague and I are thinking about an exhibition on football fanzines, in which we can talk about such things as how fans think about their club, what is said about those clubs outside of the traditional media and official programmes etc, why fans produce and read fanzines, and what it says about the culture of football in Scotland. We are both fans and fanzine readers ourselves, but we want other voices to be represented.

Now, we are only very much in a stage of first thoughts, and it may not come off. But we would like to make contact with anybody, whether a producer or a reader of fanzines, who would be interested in being interviewed or answering a questionnaire as part of the research which will feed into the planning and (hopefully) ultimately to the text panels which will accompany the exhibition. We are also trying to build a database of fanzines, including such information as how many issues they had, and the dates between which they existed. Any help appreciated!

The legal bit: all assistance will be credited in any exhibition or related publications, although this can be done anonymously if you prefer. We will, of course, give the full details of any way we might use interview material and questionnaire answers before it takes place.

Anyone willing to help or just interested in finding out more about the project, please email us at site.exhibitions@btinternet.com

Thanks
Mark
