Last chance saloon for Boneheid Rae or start of the Ian McCall Career Deathwatch thread?
Dundee are in crisis.
They have a huge injury list.
Their confidence is rock bottom.
They are in poor form.
They haven't won at Firhill since Rae has took over as manager.
We have been generally very good at home since McCall has took over.
My prediction:
Partick Thistle 1-2 Dundee.

Thistle's defence gave our low-on-confidence side not a sniff at Firhill in August and Dundee just don't look like scoring at the moment. This division throws up more shocks than Nizzy's flashing antics but surely a home win is the only result on Saturday? And if Thistle get an early goal (as they did against us) it could be ugly. The flip side is that Thistle's strikers aren't getting amongst the goals themselves and Dundee went up to County a won when they'd been written off.

3-0 Thistle.
Dundee to hold for 52 minutes, then hold for another 30 then conceed 2 late goals.

ANOTHER? FFS, that's just getting greedy. IMO our defence (as fucked as it sounds) isn't that bad. It's our midfield giving the defence no cover meaning they have more to deal with. Saturday we IMO should line up at the back:
Cowan - McKeown - Malone - Fozzy.
Not *THAT* bad if you consider we could have had Williams and Lauchlan in there.

That's exactly the back-line I had in my mind, all pending on whether Fozzy's re-call is permitted by Arborath. (Strange that one, isn't it?).

You're telling me that we didn't have a re-call clause? FFS, I wouldda thought that was an automatic on ANY loan deal that is being used to help them get experience.

I read on the Dundee site that it isn't as straightforward as re-calling the player. Arbroath have to agree, I think.

No, he's a young left back who was sent out on loan to Arbroath last week. He looks a promissing player, and one who I've no doubt will establish himself in the first team, soon enough.

Tay FM reports Rae won't be able to bring in any more players on loan ahead of the game but he might be able to fix up a trialist:
Dundee boss Alex Rae has been told he will not be able to bring more players in on loan to help ease his current injury crisis as there is no money available. Rae - who managed to sign Rhian Dodds from Kilmarnock on a short term deal last week - may be able to fix up a trialist in time for the weekend match at Partick. The Dark Blues have just 13 fit players available for Saturday.

Probably because it would suit them league wise? I'd like Clyde/Airdrie to beat a team up at the top if it helped us. Partly because "derbies" of that nature do nothing for me.

With the news that Forsyth can't be recalled for 28 days and the injuries i expect us to line up -
Douglas
Cowan McKeown Trialist Malone
Daquin Dodds Pozniak Gilhaney
Davidson Curier
That would leave us with Roy, Deasley, O'Brien, Mearns and one young defender on the bench.

Early goal for the Jags and a late clincher as Dundee were going for a late equaliser.
For me it would be
Douglas
Cowan

McKeown Malone
Pozniak
Dacquin Mearns Dodds Gilhaney
Davidson
Curier
Edit: It was meant to look like a 3-1-4-1-1 with Davidson just off Curier

A week off to recover we should be at full strength barring long term injuries, Jags to line up
.....................Tuffey..................
....................Storey..................
.........Kinniburgh Maxwell.........
Robertson.....................Twaddle
........Rowson McKeown Harkins....
...........Roberts Donnelly...........
Strikers are the most likely to be switched about in that team, McCall surely wont stick with the failure that was a Lennon Gray partnership, but I feel he may also be reluctant to start with the slowest strikeforce in Scottish football. Paton may also get a start at RWB with Robertson taking Kinniburghs place, but provided that midfield 3 starts I would expect us to win the game.
