Full Version: More Bad News For Rangers Jjb On The Brink Of Collapse
The Pie Shop > SPL and SFL Football > Rangers v Celtic, Celtic v Rangers
rocksie67
With the likes of lehman bros and the like going to the wall, it doesn't look good for JJB right now, with year losses around 8 million, their main banker (HBOS) enforcing a re-negotiation claus in their contract from .3% to 3.4% for their 15 million credit facility, and their share price falling by over 50% this week, its safe to say they're on the brink

What effect would this have on Rangers they have no retail network, Will the Rangers contract be sold on by the liquidators . Will Rangers buy it back.
What about the initial downpayment of 10 million
calum_gers
IMO this would be brilliant news for Rangers, as they are only getting 3 million a year from shirt sales at the moment while Celtic rake in 10 million plus.

What does this mean for Wigan ?

Almost certain that rangers will not get any of the merchandise. That will be sold to the highest bidder to help pay off creditors.

The real question is over RFC's merchandising. .
RFC's merchandising rights would simply be another JJB asset to be sold to the highest bidder. Even Celtic could buy them!

I would be very surprised though if Minty was that inept. Expect that RFC will regain their merchandising rights... but there would be a question over the money they have received already. GBP18 million downpayment was for a 10(?) year contract. The liquidator may have an interest in seeing some of that returned.

It will all depend on the specifics of the contract, but it will be messy. If a legal dispute erupts... could mean NO Hun merchandise for sale for a while.

This is all wild speculation and wishful thinking on your part here rocksie wink.gif

As you say it all depends on the specifics on the contract...
I would imagine that as with most conracts there will be a clause along the lines of "if either party is unable to provide a service, the contract is null and void"
But wait and see...
I would imagine the most likely buyer for Rangers merchandising, if it needs to be bought, would be Rangers themselves.
JUMPURS
probably a good thing for rangers, they will get their merchandising rights back for next to nothing.

Nah there will be nothing about it. We might stop recieving money, and if that becomes the case the contract will become void. Rangers will receive there Merchandising rights back. As for getting the cash they injected back, no chance in hell, thats like saying, I'm a business I buy stuff from you, go into debt, and you need to give me the money back for nothing. laugh.gif

It is, as being in Accountancy, you get to know a thing or two to do with liquidation. wink.gif
