St Mirren will be relegated this season. Of that there is no doubt.

That should be equally as funny. I will be here to dance on their grave.

Even though that sentence is riddled with inaccuracy, you forgot to add "FACT!" at the end of that line.

I only believe things that have "FACT!" written after them.. wink.gif

McManus was on the news moaning about the foul that led to the goal. We are too honest he said laugh.gif laugh.gif there speak the man who used his arm to score against Falkirk a few weeks ago. How thick must his brass neck be? dry.gif

To be fair, I don't think thick "Mick" McManus is the sharpest tool in the box. Celtic's answer to Barry Ferguson, must be a Hamilton thing.

Counter attacking football doesn't work when the counter attack always leads to the ball going to McGeady, who can effortlessly drift past 3 players but can't cross or pass to save himself, or to Nakamura, who's like McGeady but without the ability to beat a man as well as not being able to pass or cross.

Caldwell was the only Celtic player who had a good game.

1 point from 48. laugh.gif

It really was only a matter of time to me before Villarreal scored last night. They lacked a killer touch which if they had, and they didn’t have Boruc to beat, would have seen us beaten heavily. I am not sure why I am reading in some papers today that this was our best CL away performance unless they are meaning our best one under Strachan. Villarreals movement and passing was good but then any team we face look good in this regard when compared to us.

For the fourth away game in a row in Europe we went with one man up front, with a different player being given the leading role each time - Killen, McDonald, Venegoor and Samaras – maybe this is also part of the new ‘in-thing’, the confusion policy…..sorry rotation policy.

Samaras missed chance aside, played well last night and is clearly the most suited to this role. However, the real problem last night was the lack of support from the two wide players or anyone through the middle. It’s all fine and well playing this style but everything has to click and that means supporting the lone frontman, not leaving him out to dry. Of course, the players obviously aren’t used to playing this so it’s a big ask for them to adapt and even more so when against quality opposition.

Once again, Nakamura was poor last night. Sure he had some nice touches and passing, but Villarreal could have let him do what he was doing all night as he never troubled them. He offered little threat but as I have said time and time again, that’s the norm when he plays away from home in Europe, away to the huns and some other domestic aways. Quite why Strachan keeps persevering with him in such games is beyond me.

Talking of persevering, it really has to be time for Strachan to realise Mark Wilson is not good enough for us domestically, never mind be good enough to play in the CL. He lacks pace, is weak in tackle, has poor positional sense and doesn’t look comfortable at all on the ball. Why is there such an aversion to playing Caddis who has only featured briefly but has impressed each time he has done so.

We have now played 10 games away from home in Europe under Strachan and scored in 2 of them. It’s just depressing but when you have a team filled with squad players, who are rotated round using no obvious logic and playing systems they aren’t used to it can hardly be cited as a surprise.

On a positive not, aside from the two already mentioned, Caldwell and Brown played reasonably well.

I said before the draw was made and after it was made that third place was the only realistic target for us. That much is clearer now than ever. It could even transpire that we get that place with only 2 points in the bag.

You are right !

I hate to say it but Celtic and their delusion that they are to be dining with the Euro elite is sheer fantasy.

Their complete and utter failure to win away from home in Europe demonstrates their considrable limitations in ability and their abject failure to learn and improve for many years now is a predictable but nevertheless damning indictement of the clubs Euro calibre. It's all this ethereal Historical Hoop pish ( should that read Hysterical dry.gif ) and every celebrity's second uncle was a Hoops fan nonsense that leads the Sellic fans into believing they somehow belong with the Euro elite. Somehow this club's misguided belief that everyone loves Sellic , would love to play for the Hoops ( Ian Wright anyone laugh.gif laugh.gif ) that the Sellic brand is world famous and elevates them to a club of some repute is laughable.

The reality is so far removed it's not even in the same solar system

You do realise however that contributing to this ongoing failure in no small way is the SPL, now that's A FACT wink.gif

A hefty generalisation there. For every Celtic fan who thinks like that, you’ll find one who doesn’t.

If that other point is a draw in Aalborg then we might even have to fight for that wink.gif I thougth we did well in Spain with the players we have at our disposal, it's up to the wee man to insist that we spend in the obvious area's come santa time, OR make it clear that he's not getting the cash, if he does not do either then he's at fault if we have a bad season .

Uefa cup if we get it I'm happy with, still like to see us scare both MU and Vila at CP

The UEFA is a must and your right about WGS, he must fill the voids or take the blame.
