Magnificent 7 with:

Man Utd vs Aalborg
Arsenal vs FC Porto
Bayern vs Lyon
Juventus vs BATE
Barcelona va Shaktar Donetsk
Chelsea vs CFR Cluj-Napoca
Hertha Berlin vs St Patricks

Haven't had the chance to look at any odds yet though sad.gif

£100 on Man U, Villareal, Liverpool and Chelsea - think the best return is approx £425.

Oh and get on East Fife big and early for Saturday against Stranraer - similar to Peterhead 2 weeks a go a certainty.

Really tempted to add Motherwell to beat AS Nancy as well, as they need a result to kick-start their season - thoughts?

Its a difficult one to predict. If Motherwell start with all guns blazing I think they could pull it off. But i wouldn't bet on it.

I think he means the odds are very good for a game that Hertha should quite comfotably win.

It was a draw in the first leg iirc
accies
Ah ok my bad.
faddythedaddy
Hertha beat St Pats 2 nil in Berlin in the first leg.

Therefore the 4/6 is for Berlin to win in Ireland.

Still a fantastic price id say.

Tempted to lump on.

I like the look of:

Aalborg vs. Man Utd 4/11
Villarreal vs. Celtic 4/9
Fiorentina vs. Steau 4/9
Sporting Lisbon vs. Basle 4/7
Athletico Madrid vs. Marseille 4/7

Get odds of a 6/1 on the 5-fold.
faddythedaddy
Remember lads St Pats game is tomorrow evening at 5pm

Have to say really fancy Lyon away to Bayern like, infact I think it will be a comfortable game for Lyon 2 or 3-0
Clachan Blue
Villarreal v Celtic 4/9
Fiorentina v Steau 4/9
Sporting Lisbon v Basle 4/7
Arsenal v Porto 1/2
Chelsea v CFR Cluj-Napoca 4/9

All very tempting. Will need to have a proper look at the odds and fixtures in full though before making final choice.
Gall09
Will probably end up with £100 on Chelsea (usually one of the big teams that don't let you down in Europe) but i see Chelsea -1 is 1.82 and a Chelsea clean sheet is 1.96. Quite tempting.
DarkBlue62
Arsenal WONT beat Porto. Garantee it. cool.gif

Strongly fancy Fenerbache at home to Dinamo Kiev at 10/11

Does anyone with a slightly better knowledge of German/Irish football want to give advice on whether to lump on Hertha at 4/5 to beat St Pats?

Im 90% sure im going for a big bet

Unless your rich, I wouldn't risk it. Hertha are 2-0 and may not feild their strongest 11 whereas it's one of St. Pats biggest ever games, they'll be going for it. My prediction for that game is a draw.

Honestly. I am pretty unsure about Berlin. They have a decent squad but one of those teams you have no idea what they are going to do. Could easily go and win 5/6-0. But also could just as easily get beat.

Especially since they are already 2-0 up from the 1st leg. I reckon it could be a draw.
uberman
Man U 3/10
Arsenal 1/2
VIllarreal 1/2
Fenerbache 8/11
Fiorentina 4/9

£2.50 returns £18.24

Anorthosis 9/4 to beat Panithinaikos at home looks generous to me. Villareal at around 1/2 is reasonable considering Celtics away record in Europe, if it was Barca or Real away they would start at much shorter odds.
Fudge
I'm not sure what to do sad.gif

I think Villareal are near certainties to win and that 1/2 is a great price, but I'm very tempted to double it up with Fenerbache.

Put a wee 6-folds on for the midweek games! smile.gif

Also fancy QPR to beat Blackpool easily! Might stick the £8 on i won tonight on them @ 1.728, would return £13.82! smile.gif

Same £8 on 3-0 would return £104! unsure.gif

I think Nancy will win the match rather comfortably. 2-0 to the Froggies.

I'm going to do a mid-table and say that if Motherwell win I'll eat my hat.

I don't recommend any big bets on Cluj, Chelsea don't offer value (although obviously must be favourites). If anyone watched Roma v Cluj it'd be hard to bet against them just because they aren't a big name just now, they played some great stuff against Roma and also have a mini-Abramovich going on. Fernebache I agree look tempting, with Villareal also (A team that has won every game at home in CL last year in Fenerbache vs a team that has never won away in the champions league group stages). I also think Lyon 3/1 is quite good value, might have them on the handicap or DNB.

Bate Borisov v Juventus is interesting too, at 2-0 in the Bernebeau they weren't humiliated and Juve are far from there peak, might be a dodgy one to bet on.
cityfan
I've gone quite big on Villarreal -1 @ 7/4

Hertha are the German team always look out for - been to a couple of their games while in Berlin. THeir form can only be described as 'erratic', rather like Villa in the Prem, a good, solide team who will squander points against the most unlikely of teams.

Seeing as they're playing tonight, i think they'll easily beat St Patricks.

Treble for me tonight.

Burnley to beat Watford
Ipswich to beat Barnsley
Wolves to beat Reading

£40 returns just over £235

Going on the Burnley game tonight.

Going for a big bet on Man Utd, Arsenal, Villareal and Chelsea. What are the laddies odds?

And ambitious treble of Zenit, Sheff Utd and Leicester. Again Laddies odds?

And ambitious treble of Zenit (9/5), Sheff Utd (6/4) and Leicester (11/8). Again Laddies odds? Pays just under 16/1.

But were Lyon not beat at home against Fiorintina last time out? Does not seem the kind of form needed to go to Munich and win.
Neilly
Lyon drew with Fiorentina.

Plus Bayern have been shipping goals of late big time, someone pumped them 5-1 at the Allianz either last week or the week before.

I wouldn't bet on it personally but I can see why Lyon are value for some people.

Weder Bremen?? Think they humped them 5-2 at home (and they were 5-0 up then took their foot off the gas!) Watched the highlights on Setanta, and Bayern were woeful un defence.

Still think they'll comfortably beat Lyon at home - it all depends which Luca Toni & Miroslav Klose pitch up to play!!

IMO, Toni can be a bit petulant, like anelka - if things aren't going his way, he just drifts out of the game... mad.gif
