can anybody help whats the best way or how can i transfer a vhs tape to dvd ?

There is prob easier ways to do it than this and you can prob do it through your computer as well but the way I did was:

Hook the video player up to the tv
Hook the dvd recorder up to the tv
Press play on the video machine
Press record on the dvd recorder

that way the tv is playing whats on the video machine and the dvd recorder is rcording whats on the tv. Its a long process but it works. As I said there is prob other easier ways

You can also:

VHS to PC via DV Camcorder.

Assuming you have a stand-alone DVD recorder, the best way is to run a scart cable from your VHS player to the DVD recorder (make sure you attach it to a socket that accepts video in).

Set your DVD record input to the correct line-in (socket no) and press play on VHS and record on DVD.
