Unable to pass, control the ball, shoot, or fukk all. We could have played until the end of the season and not scored or created a move. Their keeper's first save was in the 80th minute, by which time Brechin should have been 4 up. When Bryce blasted well wide from 5 yards with 5 minutes to go I got up and left.

We were second to every ball, laboured, slow and stuttering. Brechin were quick, closed us down and passed thru us with ease.

Two points from 3 games. We were shown up very badly today - fukkin dreadful. Wake-up call McGlynn.

Just as well the Fife showed up today. dry.gif

That's typical of you. One week Rovers are the best team in the league and denied by all manner of injustice, the next you turn on them.

It's football, it happens.

No, its not me, its the team - I'm telling it as it is. One week we're good and the next we're bad.Ive consistently complained about our forwards since the start of the season.

Of course, I'd never expect someone like you to say anything objective rolleyes.gif

What a waste of time that was..

Absolutely horrific performance, worst I've seen in a long time. No skill of any kind on display from us. Davidson, Silvestro and Sloan all had their worst games in a Rovers shirt, and when you consider some of the performances these players have put in it takes some doing. No point in them showing up really.

Brechin played well though, they played some excellent stuff second half and should have scored a couple more. I don't think we could have complained about a 3-0 or a 4-0 scoreline. Paton and Byers were excellent.

Why are we playing Gary O'Connor in goals? Could easily have taken the corner that gave them the opener. His distribution was diabolical too.

McGlynn's subs are mystifying. Why take off the only player who can score for us when we're losing 2-0? Why not give Guererro a shot? If he doesn't like him, at least be fair to the lad and let him look for his break elsewhere.

We were shite, they were good. Can't really say much more than that. I can't see us winning the league this season, we just don't look good enough.

Is there really any need for a second thread on this ?

Game is already being discussed here

When it comes to making subs McGlynn is always confusing............

As for Guererro he can't be any worse than Davidson or Silvestro!!!

Horrendous Rovers performance. Easily the worst we've been this season.

Brechin played very well, and as everyone else has said, were unlucky to only get 2.

Smith has really been the only player who can score for us this season. Can't believe he was hooked, unless he was carrying an injury.

Bryce's effort at the end was mystifying. If he'd just trapped the ball and ran away, it would've been closer to the goalpost.

Sloan's worst game for us. Looked like he'd sooner swap places with Gareth Wardlaw than make a run. He does Peter Kay's "Dad Run" occasionally, that's about it.

Silvestro at least gets involved, but he had a stinker. One of those days for him, absolutely nothing he tried went as he intended. Every pass misplaced, every trap mistimed.

5 minutes before Brechin took the lead, they fired in an identical corner than Gary O gathered with ease. Why he left the second one, I've no idea. It's clearly something that Brechin have worked on in training though, and it paid dividends.

Moving away from the game, though, there were certain sections of the away support today who were disgraceful. Not Fife's Finest. A few of them might be associated with FF, but it was by no means representative of the entire group. Kudos to big Quinny who had words with one of the biggest cocks I've ever seen at a football match (The same bloke launched a tirade at Rob Sloan at Alloa).

The "fans" who spent the entire second half roaring about "disgrace" and "embarrassment" (ironically, in the Family Section of the stand) shouldn't come back.

Also, well done to Stelios and co, next to the stand, who were continuing the encouraging songs.
Fernando Torres
I meant to ask earlier - what was with the mass abuse Adam Nelson received at half time? It forced him to stop crossing the balls into the box and letting others go over who hardly got any abuse.

Is there any history with him and Rovers I don't know?

Now, first off, I wasn't at the game, so cannot really comment on it.
BUT.........Let's not get too carried away here. It is our first league defeat of the season. Brechin are top of the league. They are there for a reason, most likely, they are more consistent or simply better than us. For us to go to their patch and expect to win against, dare I say it, a promotion rival, is maybe disrespectful to them at best. Now, we all know I do not think McGlynn is the answer to us getting out of this division, and his 'tactics' and substitutions are baffling most of the time. He is not however a player on the park in a Rovers shirt. If THEY aren't performing, we are never going to win, no matter how inept the manager.

When we stop saying 'ah well there's always next week' and start saying 'ah well there's always next SEASON', then start calling for the manager's head. Till that time, we still have to pick our heads up and back both the team and manager 100%.

Heids up guys. Theres always next week............... cool.gif

That's probably the most sensible thing a Raith fan has said in a week and why I was giving the 4-0 and 5-0 predictions.
Scottydog
I don't think Brechin were that special to be honest, having said that they are a decent side and we made them look like word beaters purely and simply because we were sooooooo bad.

That is the worst Raith performance I've seen in a long time, Brechin were streets ahead and SHOULD have won by a FAR greater margin. 2-0 didn't begin to do this game justice as it could have been 4 or 5-0 by half-time.

City bossed the midfield and looked far more potent in attack where are in comparison the Raith midfield didn't turn up (at all), the attackers were starved of service and the Raith defence continually on put the back foot.

Full marks to Michael O'Neil and his team for getting it so very right in every department and zero out of 10 to the other lot who didn't even make a game of it. I was surprised the City fans weren't singing "Can we play you every week?" as I would have been in their shoes.

Also ten out of ten to the Glebe Park groundsman who had the playing surface looking like a real football pitch for the first time I can recall (usually we come to Brechin in mid winter!), Hells bells we couldn't even use that as an excuse!

Well done City.
