Spoke to jim thomson a few months ago and he was adamant Crichton didnt pay money/ bonuses etc for their players. Dont want to sound negative about them cos whats been achieved down there is incredible, but find it hard to believe the squad they have now cost nothing (particularly the new signings brought in this season). Im involved with Abbey vale and the only real success we had in sos was when we paid players a few years ago. Since this policy was scrapped our team has struggled and of course we envy Crichtons recent success. To challenge for honours do you have to spend money or are the Crichton an exception to the rule?

Don't really think it matters either way. If they can afford to pay it why not? Not as if other teams don't do it. Unless they are on am's contracts then there is something wrong. As for them saying they don't pay out, they don't really need to disclose it. It is not one of these American sports with salary caps etc. But, I am sure they go through all the tax stuff etc.

i think the point made is that the manager said they dont pay when clearly that is a pack of lies by the sound of things. And you are correct it is nobodys business but why lie about it

All the win bonuses etc go into a kitty which is used for an end of season piss up somewhere! Some players recieved signing on fee's but not all them!
