A couple of months ago I did a search for Holland v Scotland tickets and came across worldticketshop.com, at the time they were offering tickets for something like 60 or 70 quid. as time has went on they have been increasing their price and they are now sitting at £131. Has any body had any dealing with them in the past? I was unsure about their authenticity and so didn't go for tickets but i would kick myself if they were genuine and I did not buy them earlier.

£131 for a football match? And only a qualifier at that.
If you are part of the travel club, try your luck with them mate. Depending on where they play the game, we could get quite a few tickets allocated.

After my mate getting scammed from an online ticket website for his Leeds Festival ticket, I wouldn't trust a site that offers tickets for more than face value, and seem in the least bit dodgy.

Surprised tixs are available via that site when the games not been confirmed as Amsterdam yet
I'd wait till the official announcement is made.
If (as most folk hope) the game is in Amsterdam or Rotterdam then I don't think there will be much of an issue. We'd be entitled to 5,000 and I think that would cover most 2 pointers and may even reach the single point guys. Even if you don't have any points you should be ok to pick tickets up for face value over there. This isn't the last game so there wont be the home demand like there was at the dreaded 6-0 debacle.
The problems arise if it's in Eindhoven. Think we'd only get 3,000 and it could be another Macedonia/Iceland situation.

You make a good point which many people have missed, PWL. Everyone seems to think the fixture is going to go ahead at the Amsterdam ArenA (capacity 52,000 seats) or De Kuip (51,000). However - nothing has been confirmed in the Netherlands yet. It could be at the Philips Stadion (35,000) or the Gelredome (26,000). Both of which are UEFA 4-star venues - both of which are pushing for a game.

I did think that the site could be a bit dodgy, that's why I didn't buy from them. At the moment they have listed the KO as 8 at night, which is probably just a guess. As for the venue, they have just put TBA.
Personally I'm hoping for the bigger venue so as to increase my chance of the three tickets I need. I'm a member of SSC but have not managed to get any points to date. The only away trip I have done so far was Paris where we managed to get tickets off a French web site, so any suggestions for sources in Holland would be much appreciated.

Indeed, after Paris, opposition countries may well be wary about a large Scottish backing in a ground. The Dutch are quite entitled to take it to a smaller ground and limit the backing the TA can give. IIRC the Dutch supporters club have 70,000 members so they'd be little chance of us picking up home end tickets if they do.

To be honest I wouldn't bother with these websites as every game I've been to has seen tickets available on the day. I'd also be wary of the fact that they are offering tickets for a game that has not had a time or venue arranged. Clearly they don't have the tickets themselves yet to sell on. Given the numbers I've seen on the likes of TAMB buying them up they may struggle to even get enough especially if they play in Eindhoven etc. In the meantime they've had your EUR130 for 6 months.
Due to minor details like having a wife and kids my points total has slipped right back in recent years and I'm currently only on 2. In Macedonia and Iceland I managed to pick up tickets for the home end on matchday with only a limited mark up. I'm booked to travel to the Netherlands already so it's just a case of fingers crossed they take it to a big ground.
See you there for an Amstel!

How the hell can you have seven points but you've never applied for an away ticket?

No, you get one for an away game.
Ah! THe dreaded "points for home matches" topic rears it's head again.
FC_1919 is spot on. 1 point for every away ticket you get but zero for home matches. Whilst the system has it's critics I've yet to see a fairer alternative suggested. It's a hassle for me as I applied for Iceland and Macedonia and still went but didn't get an official ticket so I'm stuck on my 2 points. We all knew the system when we signed up though so there are no complaints.
With regards to travel have a look at going through Paris, Dublin or direct from one of the English regional airports. Direct cheap Scottish flights are long gone.

Surely our Cleyhole friend realises that if he "had" seven home only points most folk would. Its only for the last ten away games any way. So if it was for the last ten all games he wouldn't even have seven.
If you google the Famous tartan army magazine they are doing a trip for £280:
Private train Edinburgh to Newcastle
Overnight Ferry - 4 berth cabin so get 3 mates or share with randoms
2 nights in an Amsterdam Hotel
Free entry to the fan zone for those without tickets (the fanzone will be in the Dam regardless of where the match is as they are organising it)
Overnight Ferry back
Train back to Edinburgh
Pretty good deal so we have 4 booked
With regards to points you get points for home games which are not used for anything meaningful (yet) and points for away games used for distribution of away tickets. 2 separate systems.
28 booked on this trip.Believe it is full.

Our flights with BA from Edinburgh via London are sitting about £220 Thurs - Sun
If you have less than 4 points, I doubt you'll get a ticket for the Scotland end.
I'm just going to be going over and offering silly money to a local for his/her ticket.

That chance, is no chance.
Don't be so sure Fudge.
If you take the best case scenario and we get 5,000 tickets.
Prior to Macedonia there were 800 on 5-10 points and another 700 on 4. Only those guys will have got an extra point or 2 from the double header. Worst case is 1300 on 4 points or more.
This splits the remaining 3,500 between the 3 and below. I agree with Rovers Lad and think at least some 2 pointers will be in the mix.

I also agree with rovers_lad and Carol
Look at Paris, there were folk on 2,3 and 4 points buying tixs for the France end online thinking they wouldn`t get a ticket for the SSC section
Looks like i may well be in with a chance then.
With the new system, when the SSC actually send out your tickets, and you have to send proof you are going, is a hotel booking confirmation ok, or does it need to be flight tickets?
Fudge, you need to send in flight tixs/boarding card or hotel receipt/confirmed payment or a shite sample

.Hotel confirmation is no longer accepted. It was when they first implemented this new system for Prague but they then cottoned on to the fact you could book a hotel(non payment),print off confirmation booking form to use as proof then cancel the booking.
Saying that I`m sure the more techi ones can produce a boarding card on a PC

the points system should be scrapped and replaced by a straight ballot, giving everybody the same chance
we all pay the same membership
If you actually went to games you would have accumulated enough points not to worry about any ballot

when did your team last actually win a derby game at home
Friday Nite club
Sep 28 2008, 08:08
At the end of the day the points system is the fairest, the more matches you attend the more chance you have of a ticket. It does seem to be a bit difficult getting points in the first place as it's a catch 22 situation- no points no tickets. It seems the only way to break into this, is to go to places like Prague for the less important friendlies and start to pick up points, which takes me back to the 'more matches you attend the more chance you have of a ticket'.

March this year. Was going to ask you the same question but difficult as you change your team from one week to the next
