We are indeed, 3-0 away, 3-0 at home, which only happened because we pushed to get back into it, if it was a KO round, they wouldn't have won 3-0.

What have Lyon done in Europe recently, which is any better than either the OF?

I await your answer.

Lyon are far superior to Rangers, none of your players would get near their team.

They spent 40 million in the summer, and the 3-0 last season was one of Europes freak results

Win several away games in the Champions League.
or
Top their Champions League Group. On a number of occasions, read on...
or
Top a group that actually included one of the aforementioned OF and then winning both last 16 matches in the Champions League.
or
Topping a group with Man Utd having scored 17 goals in 6 games before romping their last 16 games in the Champions League (adding another 10 goals to that seasons haul).
or
Beaten Real Madrid, Rosenborg (twice) and Olympiakos (twice) and topped their group before winning both their last 16 games in the Champions League (4-0, 1-0 v PSV).
or
Beaten Real Madrid, Steaua Bucharest and Dynamo Kiev (twice) and topped their group in the Champions League.

Any other silly questions?

Both in bold, finished 2nd in our group and we have won away in the CL quite a few times.

Steau Bucharest + Dynamo Kiev + Rosenborg + Olympiakos, we can beat them all as well.

Real Madrid ok, top class side, Celtic have beaten Man Utd/Milan et all at Celtic Park, does that make them a super side?

They have only done really well in the CL a couple of times, both were under Le Guen. Not done anything special last 3 seasons or so.

You said 'either' of the Old Firm. Celtic have not won a game away from home in the Champions League (proper) yet. And neither have either of them ever topped their group, Celtic came close a couple of years ago, but fucked it up when they left Maloney (previous seasons Scottish POY) and Nakamura (that seasons Scottish POY) back in Scotland when they went to play Copenhagen.

You mean except topping a group with Real Madrid in it (twice), remaining unbeaten against Real Madrid (in 4 games), reaching the quarter finals and scoring 10 goals in their last 16 tie? Yes, Lyon have done nothing in the last 3 seasons or so. 1eye.gif

No, because they're quite happy to be buttock raped by Shellick Fooballclub for league games. Just don't ask them to pay more than £15 for a (gate-sharing) league cup tie that's not against Rangers.

That's the thing. It's very much following the Hun hypocrit line.

There was a Hun Supporters Trust guy complaining last season about away ticket prices, but had no comment on the rip off prices Ranergs were charging the likes of me. You couldn't make it up.

behave yourself hb, you and i both know that when we visit ibrox and parkhead it is perfectly fair to be utterly reamed on ticket prices. you have to take into consideration the excellent 5 star stadiums, fantastic catering and toilet facilities, great views of the pitch and high-quality football from the scottish champions and the uefa cup runners up.

to be honest you should be paying DOUBLE for the sheer spectacle of it.

Having different categories of game is a staple in the UK.

In England it usually costs a lot more to see Man U visit than it does Wigan.

Of course not, we have around 52,000 season tickets holders, I've always been it's a seller market when it comes to tickets(Although I not convinced that;s in the interest of fooball) , just wondering would Killie have made more money by reducing ticket prices

I'd agree that it isn't in the interests of football.

The OF fans need only look at their own club to address their complaints to.

For years it was more expensive to go to the OF grounds than for them to come to ours. Now with the 5% levy to be added onto this as well, there was only ever going to be two solutions :-

1) Sell your own
2) Screw the fans for more money.

I'd tell the banner boys to address their complaints to Liewell and Reid. Once Celtic get their house in order, they will have every right to complain about away ticket prices.

I doubt it.

Floating supporters might be tempted to watch a game locally with cheap pay on the gate prices, but there's no way that Strathclyde Polis would allow that for a game involving either half of the OF.

I doubt away attendences are influenced by ticket pricing. Your travel, beer and food costs (or petrol for those daft enough to drive to a game) will exceed the ticket price by a fair margin. If the price of a ticket was reduced by a tenner, would spending £60 all in rather than £70 really convince any extra fans to travel?

This is also the case in the majority of europe. Ajax always charge a premium price for the Feyenoord and PSV games. I personally think its fair enough for the smaller teams to make an extra couple of bob here and there. After all the stronger the product they provide the better it is for Scottish football in the bigger picture.

Can you believe a Rangers fan actually said that?

Interesting, in regards specifically to Celtic fans and filling away grounds, I'm not sure, but I think if Killie reduced their prices the extra on the gate would IMO not have made up in cash terms for the reduction in price. Most of the other SPL teams could take their prices up to £35 or more, like Hearts and still fill the away stands
