The February international friendly slot is Wednesday 11th. But I wouldn't go booking anything until it's confirmed...

I'm pretty sure this has just come about because a fan has mentioned on the TAMB that he would like to play Belgium in February.

However, if it were to be confirmed it would be not too shabby at all!

Most boring country in the world with Brussels being the most boring city. Would rather not have to endure it again.

I take it you've never been to Oslo then?
Brussels and Antwerp are superb places and of course the beer is just the best in the world.

Was......By all accounts its tits up as Portugal are down to play Brazil on the 11th November. Our second choice was Poland but they are now playing ROI in Dublin.Looking at the list of fixtures there`s not many other attractive teams left to play although a wee trip to Slovenia would be nice.As per the norm the SFA left behind yet again, ffs they`ve been in talks with Norway for weeks now regarding a change to the original fixture date and still no word

Brazil v Portugal (11th Nov)
France v Urugauay
Greece v Italy
Northern Ireland v Hungary
Republic of Ireland v Poland
Luxembourg v Belgium
Romania v Georgia
Spain v Chilie
Ukraine v Norway
Serbia v Bulgaria
Montenegro v Macedonia
Tunisia v Slovakia
Austria v Turkey
Cyprus v Belarus
Denmark v Wales
Switzerland v Finland
San Marino v Czech Republic (World Cup Qualifier)
Netherlands v Sweden
Germany v England
Estonia v Moldova

Pr*ck. Brussels is a great city, and there are plenty of fantastic places in Belgium.

Anyway, for flights, you should get a decent price for heading from Prestwick to Charleroi (Ryannair), located about 45 minutes from Brussels. New terminal there as well.

You can get flights from Glasgow>Heathrow>Brussels, I think British Airways and BMI take that route.

USed to also get direct flights from Glasgow to Brussels, but I don't know if they are still on.

That's because it's actually a sham. The August friendly slot (which we were stupid enough to use in the first place...) has been moved forward a week, to accomodate the change in format of the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Cup. Preceding 8-9 midweeks, and 3 following, are used for those cups.

We have the final qualifiers arranged for the 2 September international dates. Since the rest of the group won't agree to us playing Norway v Scotland after everyone else has finished, we will have to play on the new, earlier August date. Or we play in June - which Gordon Smith promised we wouldn't.

Agreed.

Apologies to any Norwegians reading this but you will never catch me in Oslo again apart from Scotland games. Nice folk but the city is dull, cold and will seriously dent your wallet.

Brussels is a great place whether you are away for a weekend with the wife or a p*ss up with the boys.

Haven't booked up the Holland game next year but a trip to Brussels and train to the Dam could be an option.
