Barry Robson fails to score from a penalty in Celtic's game with Aalborg and is reported as a "MISS" even though the keeper saved.

Graeme Smith prevents a penalty for Motherwell against Nancy and that is a "SAVE", rather than the Nancy boy laugh.gif missing.

In that case, why is it when a Scottish-based player fails to score a penalty, he always misses, instead of it being a save, like in Robson's case?

Suppose generally it's down to whether the penalty is well taken and the keeper need to move fast and skillfully to get to it. Robson's would have been save by Giant haystacks, although I don't think he'd have reched teh nancy boys effort

To be fair, Giant Haystacks would save most penalties if he just stayed still and filled up the goals.

Big Daddy on the other hand.....

I think that from a Nancy point of view, it would be viewed as a missed penalty, rather than a save, when a side don't score a penalty (the press would be backing both as they are Scottish) it is put as a miss, good save or not, but, when a keeper of the supported side stops a penalty being scored, it's a save.
