Tremendous point tonight against the Danish giants (albeit 10 men for the last 10 mins.) Excellent for Scottish football. Especially when I spotted two saltires in the crowd. With all what's going on with nasty songs etc, Congratulations in getting through this tough time.

The Old Firm continue to raise our European co-efficient from the swamp.
Well done.

Nice spoiler for folk who may not have seen the game.
And there are already 2 other threads for this, so why the need for another one?

Sorry I hadn't realised the other two. Celtic deserve all the plaudits though. Great to see so many fans from Ireland even coming to support them tonight.

Indeed, I had to be remembered all the time by the commentators that they were playing in the East End in Glasgow, Scotland ohmy.gif .

Isn't it funny how these opposing OF fans carry out there sectarianism, sing songs and hatred for each other but you criticize one of them for their shoite performance in Europe, which is where they will be meeting all the other world class teams that they think they are equal too, and a Hun backs them up. Oh, the irony!

The game is over,
I hope they go home,
I hope they go home,

A lacklustre, uninspiring performance from us which can hardly have came as a surprise. They may have been the worst team on paper that we have faced in the Chumpions League but that does mean they were cannon fodder.

The delusional nonsense that exists about our home form needs to end. It was nothing short of a minor miracle that we managed to win all three games last season, yet based on that some fans, many on here, thought we would take Barcelona and no doubt thought that we only had to turn up last night.

It was this which probably helped ensure the atmosphere was utterly atrocious. Could this myth about Celtic Park being some sort of turbo-charged atmosphere at European games please end. Maybe three or four years ago it was but not now. Christ, even the Aalborg fans were taking the piss out of us.

As for the game, it was disappointing to see him not start with McGeady. As much as Nakamura showed glimpses of his talent, we would have been far better served with McGeady down the right. Brown and Robson again showed that at this level they are out of their depth. McDonald and Samaras have little understanding together and Maloney up there would have been a better bet.

There was just so much wrong with the team last night that I'll only comment on something that for me was pretty telling, and it relates to the atmosphere comment you made, it was the amount of people expecting a struggle to get anything out the game at all. It genuinely surprised me.

There really wasn't. A missed pen away from a win. Celtic are third seeds in this group and should expect to be third. I think they have a very good chance of getting this position.

The last 2 seasons have been incredibly good overachievements in Europe. That may have led people away from what Celtic's true position is in the Champions league - a side whose position in the group will depend on which pot they happen to get in.

The doom mongering about this Celtic side from fans with a Strachan agenda is bewildering.

Don't agree.....the bottom line for me and it's one that I've said previously so it's not with hindsight, we had the by far the better players on that field last night, it's up to the manager to get them to win a game

Very simplistic view. Most teams which come to Parkhead in Europe have better players than Celtic. Hardly any of them win.

Celtic never looked like losing and should have won the game on the balance of play.

Celtic's home record is too good for the standard of player Celtic have. In that Glasnost is correct. It couldn't continue.

I know, after this I wish we were going to be in a relegation dog fight for the remainder of the season with a manager laugh.gif
