I have a file on my desktop that i can't delete because " this is no longer located in C:/......"

I have tryed deleting it in safe mode but still no joy anyone got any suggestions

It would suggest the file has been moved to a different location which going by your post sounds like a memory stick?
Try dragging icon (as this is probably all it is) into recycle bin.

create a text document with the same name and extention, then delete it.
