You've got young Ricky Little(centre back/right back) from us for a month, with a view to a longer loan. He played the last few games of last season, and defended admirably, despite looking a bit awkward with the ball at his feet. Hopefully he stays till January, performs well and comes back a better player for us.

Few questions.

How's Cairney getting on? Does he look a better player for all the full time training?
Did Paul Paton ever use his left foot at QP? His reluctance to use it, is grating. His delivery's good, but if he gets pushed inside onto his left, he has to pass it backwards

Hopefully this loan deal will work out best for both parties. Did he play right back or centre back for you? we look a bit shaky at the back and Martin Ure(who has played most games this season at right back) has looked a wee bit shaky. I'm sure if he does well in the month, he'll have the loan extended untill January. I would imagine he will start at right back at Arbroath on Saturday(unless another centre back has picked up an injury, then he might go to centre back).

Cairney has been fairly average this season. He got a stupid red card at Raith for kicking out at a guy and hasn't been as good as he was last season. Hopefully he can pick up some form again and play the way that everyone knows he can. He would struggle on current form int he first division.

As for Paul Paton, it was a rare occassion for him to use his left foot. It was one of the few parts of his game that he needed to improve when at Queen's. His delivery with his right is normally very good

We play a 3-5-2, so he was usually one of the centre 3, and John Robertson would usually talk him through the game. He played part of the last game of the season against Morton as either right-back or right wing-back. His attacking play wasn't great, but defensively he's sound.

I'd say he's got raw potential, but perhaps lacks a little confidence. Hopefully there's an older head in your team to keep him right.

If this works out, I wouldn't be surprised to see our young striker Graeme Eaglesham head to you as well. He's another who's impressed in our reserves, and Speirs knows about him, but he just needs more competitive games.

It's officially classed as an emergency loan, I believe these can only run for three months maximum, so the longest he can stay is until the middle of December.

He has a very long throw.

For the majority we have a very small team, although it's certainly a good option to have.

Is his throw longer than Rory Delap's though?

From what I remember no.

We need someone who can take a good, direct throw, so that's a plus.

Did he play yesterday? If so... How did he play? What position did he play?

Andyboy
He played at right full back, and he looked solid enough. Not anything fancy, but a good defender.
