With Callum Woods suspended i reckon the line-up will be...
GK-Paul Galacher
RB-Shields
CB-Wilson
CB-Thomson
LB-McCann
RM-Wiles
CM-Phinn
CM-Bell
LM-Burke dry.gif
FC-Kirke
FC-Bayne

We really do need a better left midfielder because Burke is much more suited to playing in CM...

Lets hope you can field a team, unlike today's reserve clash...

***Cue George Peat sharpening his axe again****

I'm hoping to head down for the match - The first ever league match between the teams. The two teams have only met once before, and that was in the Scottish Cup in 1996 (?) and that ended in a 4-0 win for the Pars.
That was my only ever visit to East End Park, and that was long before the refurbishment.
I've passed by the ground last summer, but it'll be good to see a game from the new stadium.

It'll be yet another very difficult game for us, but then they all are this year.

I would imagine it will be a similar team to that what was beat on Saturday by St. Johnstone. Although personally I think a few changes are required with possibly Martin Scott getting a start to add a bit of urgency to the midfield.

Any idea on ticket prices for East End Park ? Adults and kids please...

you'll get the jail for that kind of fraud!

on the point of the team, i wouldn't be surprised if he sticks with Shields and Wilson in the middle with Thompson at right back, the same as second half at Dens. hoping for a better performance from wiles and Burke this week because they were both poor even before the red against Dundee, Wiles struggled to get a grip and Burke's passing was woeful, strange as that's been his best feature this season.

Burke isn't a left midfielder is just not fast enough.

no, he's not a left winger. When his passing has been good (as has been the case most of this season) we have played on it really. We do need a pacier wide left player though just to have that option in the squad. I was not a fan of Burke last season but he really has came onto a game this season (saturday excluded) and by playing him in a more inside left position, it has helped prevent us being over run in midfield which happened all too often last season.

I sort of agree, but at the same time that's probably a wee bit harsh. Burke was poor in the first half on Saturday, just never seemed to get into the game. However in the second I thought he did OK, with some really good defensive cover work a number of times. That's the one thing about his game that's impressed me most this season - for someone who started as a striker, he seems to read it well, and his covering to stop attacks has generally been pretty good all season. While it's true that he didn't create much going forward, you have to take into consideration the pressure we were under, and overall I thought he did his main job well in the second half, i.e. in protecting his defence.

It's a bit of a shame this one's at home first - I'm sure the first ever trip to Dingwall for a proper game would have been a bit better at this time of year than a week before Chrsitmas, but never mind. Still though, always nice to play a different team, and since I didn't make the Scottish cup game 10 years ago, it'll be the first time I've ever seen the Pars play Ross County, although I did once see them at Starks Park in a midweek game around Christmas just after the Anelka shambles came ot an end.

Generally we've been better away so far this season, and we're really due a decent showing at home - hopefully it'll be this week.

Another difficult game for us. Very difficult.

I would take a point right now, we could really do with getting some more points on the board. If were not carful, we could end up adrift at the bottom very soon. We seem to be playing alright, but just not taking our chances and essentially points. I would maybe play Daal from the start for this one, move Morrison back into defence and give either Stachan (If fit) or as TJE Scott a run out on the wing.

Another upset win would be great, but I don't see it happening, which is why it would be an upset. I'd take a point too.

That's all part of what i meant by he's come onto a came this season and helped prevent the midfield from being over run, i just didn't go into detail. by your comments, i'd say we're probably both of the same opinion on Burke this season. the game became a completely different beast second half but i tend not to read anything from games when the team goes down to ten men for so long, just happy to take anything and move on. The team essentially becomes one defensive unit in those circumstances with desperation coming into it as much as anything else, there's no way you could fault any of the players for effort in the second half and, in the circumstances, that's all you can really look for. If we had a pacey, skillful left winger in the team, i still would've started Burke on saturday but, without the red card, and after the first half he'd had, i probably would've hooked him at half time to be replaced by the more attacking option.

Not that long, the terracing you stood on that day was demolished 6 months later. sad.gif

Was it that soon afterwards.. I honestly thought it was about 3 years or so.. Funny how your mind gets dates all mixed up.

Either way, it looks like I won't be heading down now as the suporters bus has yet again not got enough interest to merit running it - and my wife is using the car on Saturday so that rules that out too.

Probably just go swimming in the morning now, and listen in on the radio in the afternoon.

Might make this one, where is the best place to park near the ground, and to go for a pre-match refreshment?
parslad
Plenty of side streets near the ground.Wont have trouble parking and there's a big official car park also.Nearest pub is Elizabeathan about 5 minutes away or a 15 minute walk to town centre where ther's plenty pubs and places to eat.
