I'm at Uni Halls just now, on the internet using the Uni network.

The problem is, that to connect to the network I have to have a suitable Anti-Virus program. I was using AVG Free, but it wasn't deemed good enough, and so I was sort of forced into downloading Symantec to get it to work.

Now, my laptop and Symantec seem to be having major disagreements.

I've got constant pop-ups telling me that the drivers aren't compatible with Vista.

This keeps appearing:

And when I press "Check for solutions online" it tells me there are none, and if I press Cancel it just changes to a little speech-bubble thing at the taskbar, and then goes back to that warning a few seconds later.

Anyone have any idea how I can fix this, cos its getting right on my tits?

I'm pretty sure it's recommended that you only run one anti-virus gubbins and 2 fight with each other and slows down your performance?????

I know nothing by the way.

I should've added that I unistalled AVG before I installed Symantec.

Did you uninstall avg first?

I would recommend that you uninstall symantec again, uninstall avg, restart your computer, and go again. Make sure that you have chosen to download the package that is specifically for Vista.

The VPN installation package from the uni has a range of stuff to install (or did last time I used it a couple months back), so you will have to make sure you have the vpn guard, any vista updates it recommends, and then symantec. After that, then you can download the vpn connection itself.

Hope this helps, if not, give me a shout and Ill rack my brains.

Btw, it is compatible with Vista, I use exactly the same Symantec from the uni, and it works with my vista at home, so it will work if done properly (and the gods are with you).

I reinstalled everything that I'd tried to install earlier, and it seems to have worked biggrin.gif
