Says the man with a signature of 'Hibsbollah!!! Im embarassed for you mate.

CS hit the nail on the head. Every comment from the 'TA haters' on this thread are based on secondry information. Whereas other peoples opinions, including my own, are based on actually travelling abroad with Scotland. Crazy stuff eh.

Now boys, try to come up with something worth debating before you respond. laugh.gif

That's all good and well however you yourself are not alien to posting complete nonsense ie "Scotland fans are given praise by nationals of countries we visit. Celtic fans just decided amongst themselves".

Reading through this thread you can see why pub arguments decend into violence.

How may times can you argue the same trivial point before you just think 'this is pointless' I would rather kick f**k out this idiot as it would give me a joyful feeling. The internet probably saves peoples lives.

And all this over a perfectly harmless song. The Von Trapp's must be spinning in their graves.

Absolutely. Just like every other group of football supporters. Well done, you sad, pathetic little man.

If HB is a sad, pathetic little man, then I reckon it's better to be sad, pathetic and little than whatever the alternative is.

Again, your grasp of opinion and fact are poor.

I'm actually fairly tall. The others are subjective, so you can stick with those.

I think you will find, that that particular song was raked out because of the gorgeous blonde lassie who was walking round the track...I tried to start a rendition of "NIPPLES, NIPPLES WE WANT NIPPLES..." myself, but thought better of it... laugh.gif

It was sung at a couple of different people, first a ballgirl then the girl in the bib walking round. The ballgirl can't have been any more than 18 at the very most, seeing men of 60 plus leering at her and sining the above and other more inappropriate songs was incredibly embarassing. Don't get me wrong I think Scotland fans are generally great ambassadors for the country and the Icelanders I knew loved the party atmosphere, but there's no denying the behaviour is incredibly cringeworthy at times.

Personally, its the farting that gets me.
No matter where you are at Hampden, or abroad, someone has to unleash the most vile odour from their arse youve ever smelled in your life.
Quite frankly how countries around Europe tolerate this is a mystery to me.

In it's own way the best post on this horrific thread. Makes previous posters look quite silly and childish, especially that strange HB character. Jordo doesn't appear to be the full shilling either. Not sure about anyone else but their bizarre exchange had me in hoots.

Interestingly, the seemingly hastily created point about 'pissing in fountains' from the anti TA corner had me 'pissin' masel. I would tentatively suggest that if there are 5000 fans in a square in a town centre and everyone has had an ale or two then SOMEONE is going to take the admittedly unadvisable decision to relieve themselves in said water feature. This appears to be the sum total of examples of unruly, unacceptable, loutish etc behaviour from scotland fans abroad. Kinda says it all.

Well that's all right then. As long as there are quite a few of you and drink is being consumed pissing in a fountain is quite acceptable. What else can you do indeed?

A predictable retort.

I'm loathed to enter into debate with you, however, you will note that that I did say it was unadvisable to perform such an act ie prospects of being lifted, annoying locals etc being the obvious consequences. In no way did I condone it.

My point was that if thats the only example of bad behaviour from Scotland fans abroad from the strange people who slag off the TA then i'll take that.

The 'fact' and 'opinion' bit was side-splitting though.

Well done on highlighting the word opinion in that. However you are incorrect. It is factual that people in cities Scotland have visited did not enjoy the experience, given the fact I know people who did not.

It would only be opinion had I, or they, suggested the TA were fannies. That is a subjective opinion.

It's entirely reasonable for you to conclude it's a fact that the TA are not always liked in the cities that they visit due to the opinion of your friends, however unless that opinion is substantiated it is also reasonable for other people to write it off as hearsay rather than accepting second hand testimony as fact.

Mind you, I'd be amazed if some people aren't pissed off when we arrive in their cities and make their life a little bit more difficult, even if it's just because a city square is more crowded than usual, and take over their pubs. Hell, I get annoyed with some of the TA when I travel or go to Hampden and I'm generally proud to consider myself a member of the TA.

It's amazing that in this day and age anyone could get offended or annoyed by a song of any nature, and that includes the old firm.

No, of course it isn't.

This debate has been done to death. It's only poorly educated people and Old Firm fans who find this song offensive.

Anyway, you wouldn't catch me singing the "FTQ" bit, with me being such a Hun rolleyes.gif

Absolutely correct. I have never said otherwise. If it was only myself that had heard of these complaints, it would be entirely reasonable to assume they were incorrect. The fact is though, there are many posters on this site who have similar tales of irritation to tell and they have done on the many threads on the TA.

Exactly. Crowds of pished guys are rarely terrific experiences. That's the point entirely.
