What browser are you using?

To get it working straight away, it'll fire up IE. Go to Control Panel > Internet Options. Click on the Programs tab and next to email, click on the drop down menu and select which ever webmail you desire. If you don't have the options there, you may need to log into your webmail account in IE and then try it.

Which was why I asked what browser he uses as IE picks up the details from the Internet Options dialog, but FF has an overloaded value taken from ..

(in FF) Tools > Options > [Applications]

Wasn't sure where FF took the details from. But looking at it now, it seems obvious. I should really look about the workings of FF a bit more!

It's IE I use

I tried the above suggestion which has changed it to hotmail but for some reason instead of going straight to hotmail with the emailaddress of the site you want to send to it now goes to hotmail log in so it's still not working right sad.gif

The login should only be shown until you log in and the session cookie is set, however I did read somewhere that Hotmail has changed it's authentication so that it doesn't go straight to the mail page anymore.

I could be wrong, as I don't use IE or Hotmail and I didn't take any real notice of the article.

btw, pointless trivia, Hotmail is called that because of the initials HoTMaiL.

It would only go straight in if you set your login to Hotmail to remember email address and password.

No, that's not it. It worked for years without doing that before. I'm just going to give up now sad.gif
