Halkirk United top the league with 20 goals from 4 games, having destroyed Bunillidh Thistle 8-1 this weekend, and brought newcomers Tain Thistle down to earth with a bang, with a 7-0 away win.

Golspie Sutherland, who missed the season opener due to a fixture clash, trail Halkirk, with 9 points from their first three games.

An impressive start which has dwindled following defeat to Golspie and a home draw against rivals Invergordon means Alness United drop to third, accompanied by Balintore and Invergordon.

Bunillidh continue to shock and disappoint as they sit on 6 points from 4 games, having won 4-1 at Tain, lost 6-0 to Alness, won at Balintore and lost 8-1 to Halkirk.

The final four are made up of Muir of Ord, on 4 points, followed by the extremely underachieving Thurso, who are one point from twelve. The league is being propped up by the pointless pair of Bonar Bridge and Tain Thistle.

Fixtures for the coming weekend:

Saturday, September 20th 3pm kick off.

Golspie Sutherland vs Halkirk United
This match provides Halkirk with a fantastic opportunity to open a gap at the top, but a defeat at Golspie would mean both teams sit level on 12 points at the top.

Tain Thistle vs Muir of Ord Rovers
Tain Thistle could look at the table and see this as a chance to take their first points of the campaign with Muir in poor form, but the Rovers have scored in all of their games so far and will be coming to Grant Park looking for the back of the net.

Thurso vs Bonar Bridge
The Caithness men have to look at this game as their chance to kick start their season, and comfortably. A home defeat to Bonar Bridge should be unthinkable, but the Bridge men impressed against mid table Invergordon last weekend and will be looking for the upset.

Thurso have played Halkirk, Golspie, Muir of Ord and Balintore, who are probably the 4 strongest teams in the league so their position is a bit false I think. No doubt they aren't the team they were though.

Golspie have a huge number of good players to choose from, while Halkirk have added Mark Nichol who will score for fun again.
