I prefer to sit, if something happens then you can stand up.
The Lib Dems can say anything they want because they wont be elected.

Not so long ago, I would have voted "stand", but have voted "sit"- it's an age thing !
About time this debate is being had. Not being given the option of standing is probably the one thing that has annoyed me the most about football in recent years. Frankly, I've had enough of this pandering to the emotional nonsense of Hillsborough that we keep hearing any time the proposal is mentioned. The anomolies in it are ridiculous, as pointed out in that article.
I don't have any problem with anyone who wants to sit - I have no desire to make them stand on a tarrace if they don't want to. All I want is a standing area where those WHO WANT to stand and watch a game can actually do so.
It's probably a bit away yet, but it's clear that the issue hasn't gone away despite the wishes of football administrators. I'm hopeful that we'll be able to rid ourselves of these all-seated grounds in my lifetime - they are after all relics of the last century.

Stand every time. You just can't get a proper rant in without standing up.

I used to watch Rushden and Diamonds when I was at uni and they had a safe terracing behind one of there goals. Was great for creating a bit of atmosphere. There were seats behind the other goal so you had a choice.
Average crowds were around the 3000 mark so its not something that wouldnt relate to up here.
Also was a bit cheaper to stand, an important factor.
But I agree with socks, who gives a toss what the lib dems say?

Standing every time. Obviously there should be seating areas too for those who want to sit, but there should always be a choice in the matter.
Oh, Cappielow is wonderful.

Anyone who vots 'sit' should be made to sit in the main stand at Cappielow for a full 90 minutes.

I think having the choice is important. I don't know how they would implement any changes at Mcd or where in the ground.

Stand, as long as it has decent facilities - a roof, decent bogs and catering and enough exits, barriers, etc. Also important - better alongside the pitch rather than at the ends.
Looking back at the design of old stands at grounds still around the country (Firhill and East end Spring to mind from Div 1), a small terracing, not too deep in front of a stand does help create atmosphere. As long as they have all the requisite features mentioned above.

you're not kidding, I don't think the blood flow has returned below the knees, 24 hours after yesterdays game. If Queens ever make the step up to the SPL the major downwer will be the loss of the terracing at Pammy and the requirement to sit every week home and away.

I didn't vote because I always sit in the Main Stand at Palmerston, but would hate to see the terracing disappear. It gives our ground something different and contributes greatly to the atmosphere. I've gone there for the two cup quarter finals over the last couple of seasons and it has been memorable.
My usual choice to sit has more to do with being high up and on the half way line for the same money than whether I get to sit down or not.
For some reason, I've also started standing up throughout half-time, a practice I used to mock. I think it must be an age thing.

Sit - standing should be outlawed at all levels of football, just encourages the teenagers to 'act-up'.

Standing - with the provision that both sets of fans are on the same section separated by wire fencing.
Entry to the SFL (from above) should require the ground to be made out of at least 15% corrugated iron and barbed wire.

I'm for standing 100% helps create atmosphere and people are more likely to sing whilst standing.
I agree with the older guys though standing for an afternoon may not be easy for some, I think we should do what some German stadiums have, Terracing but they have seats that fold down from the handrails (if you know what I mean).

Stand for me. We were at two great grounds in Denmark (Nordjealland's and Brondby's which was particulaly good) and they both had provision for safe standing in small sections behind the goal.

I'd rather sit, but like others I wouldnt take away the option of standing for those who want to.

Hopefully somewhere nearer though

. I think it would be possible to get a few mates on the train to go to a ground and quit depending on my Dad taking me to these sort of games, if we go at all. I was close to arranging a trip to east stirling but there was a change of plans at the last moment.

Arbroath is a fantastic wee ground, so if you do ever draw them in the cup make sure you go.

I stand, until a jobsworthy (as they seem to be known now) tells me to sit.
Since the introduction of seats, football has been dieing.
No question as far as I'm concerned, it's got to be standing.
The worrying thing is the number of posters who are just a wee bit younger than my good self, but old enough to have enjoyed an old fashioned ground / terrace, complaining about their old bones and the joys of the comfort of a seat.
It's no wonder we're chasing the U.S. in the world league of fat b*****ds
