Sony Ericsson W810i.

Yesterday suddenly ran out of battery. Put it on charge. Leave it in for 5 hours. It says it's charging. It isn't though.

Hence the question: is it the battery or the phone? I'm inclined to think the battery, but it could well be the connectors to it.

If your phone is reporting that it's charging, it wont be the charger. I'd suggest your battery is no longer capable of holding a charge.

Bought a new battery. Same story.

What's going on sad.gif

Edit: When I said the problem could be with the connectors, I meant could it be the metal clips with which the battery makes contact with the phone?

It's possible I guess. How olds the phone?

Edit: Actually on second thoughts, if it was the connectors your talking about, surely the phone would not be able to detect the presence of the charger to report that it's charging?

I got the phone about 2 years ago, maybe heading on 2.5.

It's claiming to be on "Optimised Charge" yet when I check the settings it says "Charging 0%" for both the old and new batteries.

This is a nuisance as I can't really afford to replace my phone at the moment...

Okay now I'm getting "Charging Error Stop Charging" coming up on the phone huh.gif

I'm beginning to think the phone is simply royally fucked.
