In dundees local paper theres a sporting postbag where readers send in letters about all things sport, recently theres been a few letters demanding deasley be put in the first 11 NOW, my question is why is this average player so idolised. Hes been on loan to lower league clubs and couldnt hack it there so what makes so many fans believe he is some kind of messiah? now i remember he scored the winning goal in a friendly against utd!!!!!

He was scoring regularly for possibly the worst Dundee team EVER, people seem to think he's some boy wonder.

That's actually a positive.

I'm sure the clowns who produce this shitty paper write the letters themselves. I can hardly bring myself to buy it anymore it's so cringeworthy. When you venture towards the front pages the standard of journalism is even worse. The parochial reporting of current affairs and scaremongering of the readership is a disgrace.

As for Deasley, he's a good option to have on the bench. Although their lack of goals recently has been a disappointment, Rae is absolutely correct in sticking with McMenamin and Antoine-Curier. It's fairly obvious, to those who have watched the games, that the lack of creativity in midfield is to blame.

I'd play Davidson ahead of Deasley in any case.

Mr Gandosaur
I dont get these folk who seem to recall deasley "scoring regularly" in the Kerno days. He actually only scored 3 goals that season, then 3 the following 2 of which came in the same game against Partick. Very over-rated player in the eyes of many Dundee fans. Those in the tele who are forever moaning for him to be put straight into the startin XI clearly know nothing about football. One fellow says even stated that Curier and Mcmenamin have been missing loads of sitters. Apart from Airdrie away where Roberston was amazing in goal, i dont think either of them have had a good chance between them.
wee-dude
i remember seeing him play agiainst us in the scottish cup 3rd round at new broomie 2 seasons ago im sure it was

anyways , from what i remember he ripped airdrie apart that game and scored the goal that took us into a replay , looked a good player but i suppose that was a while ago smile.gif

Deasley should be bombed out of Dundee.

Indeed.

Although if we're talking about the Tele I'd have to say the reporting of current affairs, in any meaningful sense of the term, is almost non-existant. It's a parochial paper for parochial people. It's a given that it's not aimed at the intelligentsia.

Get awa doon the shops and buy yersel an FT.

Fan of the club and a decent player if a bit wee. Always gives his best for the Dee (no so sure about his loan clubs) and must be slightly frustrated that he seems to be fourth choice.

If the goals arn't forthcoming in the next couple of games then I would expect Deasley to get a starting place.

As for the slurs on the tully, hang yer heads in shame your all going to hell.

Exactly.

Curier and McMenamin are very much target men; they need a supply from somewhere and that is lacking. I'm hoping and praying that Cameron starts on Saturday and he finally gives us what we're looking for in that department.

Deasley can be good but he has a habit these days of sprinting into big defenders or out of the pitch.

I thought their recent front page splash on Mamma Mia's successful box office takings in the local cinemas was an outstanding piece of investigative journalism.

I shouldnt slag it off really. Allegedly i have a letter in the Sporting Postbag today. Haven't bothered my arse to spend however much it is these days to check.

But in agreement with the above, and possibly somewhat ironically, it is a fucking dreadful paper.

The Postbag is all about SFA trained referees stopping to referee some league in Dundee? I didn't read too much into it, 37 pence it is now! Deasley is good when he wants to be.

Yeah its our Sat morning league. SFA decided we had to cough up £4000 to keep using refs 5 days before start of the season. Twats. mad.gif

Don't worry, normal service will be resumed.

I don't bother reading the letters sent into The Tully, most of the time it's a total nob writing in.
