after browns poor performance on sat and for his appearences for celtic this season has he really earnt the right to wear the scotland jersey ave said it all along that the midfield for scotland should be maloney and commons on the wings robson and fletch in the middle and am not sure if brown would even be a sub for me he''s just not showin the commitment he used to perhaps because of family problems which i am sad for but if ur not in the frame of mind to go out at international level u shud take a sstep back and let a fully commited player take ur place
Duracell Bunny
Nope! He's getting picked for club & country based on past performances and it's been well over nine months since he looked like the player we all thought his was.

Plus he's wasted on the right..........
port-ton
I still think we need his energy in Midfield. If we're picking players based on how good theyve been then Darren Fletcher shouldn't even be on the bench. I hate Brown on the right but i'd start with him probably with Maloney on the left.
Doonhamebear
No, he's went backwards since signing for Celtic and seems to be getting picked on his form in the first half of the 06/07 season. I don't think he should even be in the squad, he brings nothing to the team other than that glaikit stare.

You do talk sense for a Morton fan.

I would have a midfield of Fletcher,Brown,Robson and Maloney.

Edit Brown was no worse than Hartley on Saturday.

He shouldn’t be in a Celtic jersey. Whether that means he shouldn’t be in a Scotland jersey, I don’t know.
F_T_Y
If played in the coreect position yes he should.

Commons Brown Fletcher Maloney

Robson is not good enough for scotland.

But strangely, he should be in ahead of Brown in the Celtic team.
H_B
He is going backwards at a rapid rate.

Which is a shame, considering he looked very promising when he broke into the national team.

Maybe a move away from Celtic will help his form return.
calum_gers
Robson should be in a scotland team. Apart from being a very good player. He takes perhaps the best corner Ive ever seen.
Paco
Brown is wasted on the right. I thought he was quite good when he finally got shifted into the middle after a comical performance from Paul Hartley. He really is utter shite.
IXI THE ONE IXI
He looked good at Hibs, which probably wouldn't be too hard. Makes the step up, and obviously doesn't have the ability to take the next step. If he went back to Hibs you could guarantee he would give swashbuckling performances, and be hailed as a hero again. Some players just can't step up a gear, Robson went up a gear at Celtic pretty well, but Brown for a £4 million + player looks pretty average at best in a Celtic shirt, and a Scotland shirt.
Russ.
Barry Robson offers far more in an attacknig sense than Scott Brown and imo currently it should be Hartley and Robson in central midfield.

Even when everyone is fit Paul Hartley is far and way the best defensive midfielder Scotland have got.
Distant Doonhamer
I thought Scott Brown did really well tonight.
Stainrod's Fedora
Scott Robertson is a better player than Scott Brown, in my opinion.

From what I've seen of Scott Brown, the only thing he is good at is controlling the ref. He just needs to look like he'll threaten someone and they get booked instead of him. Also doesn't seem to be able to tackle without fouling.

Plenty of better players to pick from than Brown.

He runs about a lot but he is usually behind the play and he seldom releases the ball at the right time. He doesn't have a killer pass and he tends to bottle it in front of goal. As you mention he also seems incapable of tackling without commiting a foul, perhaps because his positioning/timing is so wretched.

He spends too much time petulantly puffing out his chest, mouthing off and involving himself in unseemly 'handbags'.

Having said all that he is still better than the utterly diabolical Hartley and Robson.

Correct. Good player, and his corners are totally lethal! I feel like we're going to score every time he steps up to take one for Scotland, and I get a wee bit nervous every time he steps up to take one for Celtic! laugh.gif

For a team that relies on set pieces as much as Scotland I can't see any reason not to include him.

I'd love him to play for Rangers.
