I was bemused when no official attendances were given for the first two rounds of last season's Scottish Cup. I truly hope that this has been remedied and that we will look more professional in the eyes of the world.

I was also absolutely stunned to hear Linlithgow Rose's explanation to why they would NOT be issuing a special match programme for their first ever appearance in the Scottish Cup.

I don't know about all the other entrants last season, but does anyone know if all home teams other than the above mentioned printed a programme for their big day.

I know the Crichton have plans to do so if they are drawn at home in the next round.

I understand that Linlithow are planning a programme at some point this season.

Gates were available last season for the Scottish Cup's early rounds but figures were impossible at some matches. For example, no record of admissions was done at St. Cuthbert Wanderers v Lok (the way we do it is to give a ticket to everyone coming in) and admission money was in the same tub as programmes. Saints had no idea at all how many were in the ground. That may have been the case elsewhere.

I have gates for most of last year's 1st and 2nd rounds, where applicable, if interested.

I think quite a few people on here would be interested, so it would be good if you could post them

Official attendances are the nuumber of people that would need to be evacuated from the ground in the case of an emergency and should include
Referee and Assistants, Both teams substitutes and backroom staff, Medics, press , complimentaries, ball boys, committee, camera men etc etc . These numbers will add up to excess of 120 people

Official attendances are generally classed as the paying public. I have to say I've never ever heard of players being counted in an official attendance. Some clubs include ALL season ticket holders in their figures even if they're not there - you can't evacuate someone that's in front of the telly watching Jeff Stelling.

I have to agree with Cmontheloknow here - for me, official attendances should be those people who came to the game in order to spectate. This would therefore exclude the two teams, the match officials, and any stewards/police/turnstile operators etc. It would include anyone who paid or utilised a season ticket to get in, complimentary tickets, directors box, and any press or media.

Regarding 'professional-ish-ness' of the early rounds: I was disappointed last season, particularly at the lack of attendances (and goalscorers on live score updates...). Hope it's bit better this time.

The media ignored it in places. Great coverage of the Juniors early on but that was it. I was so disappointed that the Sky Sports Yearbook failed to cover the 1st and even more so the 2nd round ties.

I assume getting a more professional level of coverage has to be dictated by the SFA. For starters, they can DEMAND all clubs properly track how many people are in the ground by issuing two types of ticket stub in receipt of adult and concession payment. Clubs that do not do this should forfeit 25% of their prize money. I'd go so far as to split that forfeit between the visitors and the association.
Ultra Sud
Not exactly scientific but i happened to be in Edinburgh at the time and so took in the Civil Service v Selkirk 1st round tie and would estimate that the crowd was no more than 80.

Is there a minimum charge for cup ties this year - £5 for 1st round last year was it not?

We had programmes for both the Stenhousemuir game and the Raith Rovers game, but you would expect that againts SFL clubs. Like the idea of handing a ticket to every entrant to measure attendance, Threave are the same as Saints when it comes to letting folk in

Threave attendence given at the match v Raith was a total joke. Even the public address announcer was embarrased reading it out. 613 it was more like 1000. mad.gif

It will be interesteing to see if Banks O'Dee and Lochee issue programmes today.

I counted about 90 folk at Golspie ,though a lot of these were kids and comm members paying attendance would be about 45, there were programmes on sale.

Well they did and were not very good value for money, Banks O'Dee in particular.
