Is Nicky Phinn back for this game?
It's a bit confusing looking at the suspensions lists - he was on it as an immediate 1 game suspension 2 weeks ago which obviously he served against Livingston, but somehow it also shows up as a 1 game suspension to be served on last week's list. I'm pretty sure it's just an error on last week's list though and that he shouldn't have been on it, meaning he'll be OK for Saturday.
I'm looking forward to this one. We have a good record at Dens over the last 15 years and indeed I think I've only seen us lose once there, which was the day Lee Wilkie broke his leg, Darren Young scored a peach for us, Dundee equalised with a penalty given after a shot hit Scott Thomson in the middle of the chest, then Brett Sancho scored the winner. Why is my memory annoyingly good for games I really don't want to remember?
I like going up to Dens, loads of good games there in recent years, notably our 2 comeback in successsive seasons in midweek games for a 2-2 draw and a 3-2 win5 or 6 years ago, as well as a 4-2 win and 4-4 draw in the mid 90s. Even last season, the two draws there were both quite decent games, with the 0-0 in the second away game there possibly the best game I saw all season. Also, for all the crap that gets chucked round on here about Dundee fans, I've always found them fine, both in the pub before the game and walking up the road back to the car afterwards.

If Phinn is avalible McIntyre will pick
-----------------------Galacher-------------------
--Woods/Shileds--Wilson--Thomson--McCann
-----Wiles--------Bell------Phinn-----Burke---
---------------------Bayne---Kirk--------------
Looking at that reminds me of how we have no decent Left Midfilders...although if im being honest i thought Muirhead done ok when he came on against Livi..

Well, we are well overdue for the team to play well this season. Colin Cameron has too make a difference if he does play or its going to be a long hard season and the possibility that Craig McKeown will make his home debut as well should be another reason to be positive. This wont be a game for passengers, so maybe AR will leave out Daquin again, although he did score against the pars last season and the only game we have lost this season is when he was dropped!
I think the first goal will be important in this game as I dont see many goals being scored in this one.
Hopefully, the Pars should bring a decent enough support and get a good atmosphere for the players.

I'm hoping and praying that Colin Cameron and Craig McKeown are fit for this game.
I also think Gilhaney and O'Brien should start on the wings, because Paton did very little at RM against Queens, except for a couple of crosses (which he could just as easily have sent in from RB).
So, a very optimistic line-up would be...
Douglas
Paton McKenzie McKeown Malone
O'Brien Cameron McHale Gilhaney
Antoine-Curier McMenamin
Subs: Roy, Cowan, Pozniak, Deasley, Davidson
Actually, thinking about it, isn't is strange how in the first league game after dropping Freddie, we still played shit but actually lost?

As far as i know we sold out 1 bus about a week ago don't know if we have put on 2 busses..although it is close and easy enough to get there by car and train.
Btw how much does your pies etc cost?

Put it this way: a 3-course lunch at La Gavroche is probably cheaper, and that includes the cost of getting there and back.

My advice - eat and drink before you go in m8. Im sure you will get something more satisfying and cheaper outside of the ground. If you cant go 90 mins without something to eat, then go and see your doctor
Have a look at
this It will put you off hopefully. I have not bought food a Dens for quite a few seasons now.

we are Lacking in good left wingers, Burke has been playing well but is playing a more inside left role with Mcann given total permission to bomb forward at every occasion and do the work of a left winger. In that respect, JM quite intellegently has us playing to our strengths although it can leave us susceptable to counter attacks. would be good if we could bring an exciting, pacey left winger in on loan to give us the option though because, of the players already at the club, McBride isn't ready for the first team and Muirhead is a a white, left footed Freddie Daquin.
looking forward to a proper tastey encounter here with both teams really looking to make a statement of intent for the season, my dad can't make it, unfortunately. He has a wedding to attend so i'll be dragging the wife along to make up the numbers (she's a rovers fan, but she doesn't really know any better, not yet anyway!).

Anyway, back on topic.
I actually expect us to win this one, but it won't be easy. Dunfermline caused us a lot of problems last year at Dens.
Both teams will definitely get chances, so I think it's a case of whoever takes their chances will win.
I'm going for a 1-0 win to Dundee.

Now thats the kind of score line I would like to see . I am travelling up to Dundee from Bournemouth for this game. I cant wait to get back in the Derry. Its been a while as I tend to do my support of the club through the club shop. Last Dens game was a 1-1 against celtic. The cup final was a day to remember also. Anyways as I am a bit out of touch ...wheres the best pub pre match for a couple of pints and good banter????.....looking forward to being back inside Dens... f**k I am excited!!

No, but you seem to think we'll be lucky to get 9 points out of the next 5 games, which is very very possible, but it would be refreshing to see some more optimism from a fellow Dundee fan. Everything connected with Dundee, you show a pessimistic attitude.

It is possible, but what's not?
I think our fans can do with looking on the bright side a little more often, and showing some optimism.
There's as much chance as Dundee winning (I would actually argue, more) 1-0 than Dunfermline, so why not tip your beloved team in favour of a victory, rather than the opposition?
