Tayport 1-1 Whitburn
cmontheloknow
A pretty emphatic win for Lok in front of just under 700 fans.

Lok opened in the 4th minute when Turnbull's header came back off the woodwork, but Bryan Dingwall was on hand to head Lok in front from the rebound. Lok's 2nd was an individual piece of brilliance from Calum Hardie, twisting a 'Lie defender inside out then sending a powerful rising shot from an angle high past Shaw. 2-0 and only 8 minutes played. Robert Downs fired Lok three clear in the 16th minute and flicked a header in for a fourth in the 29th minute. 4-0 at half time and had it been 7 or 8 it would not have been that unjust on the visitors who were very poor.

Arthurlie were a bit more purposeful in the second half and pulled one back in the 54th minute when McLay fired in a low cross that wasn't properly cleared, and Craig Malcolm blasted the ball beyond Robertson from the edge of the box. Lok netted a fifth in stoppage time when Hardie dispossessed the dithering David Craig, then getting free to send a low cross to the totally unmarked Dingwall, who played the entire game in midfield, to fire home into an empty net.

I thought Glens were unlucky. They had 5 good chances and should have taken them. The Rose battled well but the balance still isn't there in the middle of the park.

One of the worst games I have seen between the two sides, too many players after the game heard blaming the wind. Even first half but Hill of Beath slightly the better team second half without creating too much. Draw probably a fair result. Hill of Beath no 6 &7 look decent players and Roger Duffin strolled through the game.

Must have been a day of dreadful refereeing...

Went along to Dalkeith and saw possibly the most inept display of Refereeing possible.

Not a bad tackle in the game and saw at least 5 bookings and 2 red cards. Not to mention a goal disallowed possibly due to having the wrong glasses, a stone-wall penalty and other seemingly mind boggling decisions.... This guy whoever he was, was out of his depth big style and would have struggled to referee an under 11 game.

Saying that both teams need congratulating on a good end to end game, that in the end was spoilt by this guy wanting to be the centre of attention.....Well worth the entry money tho. biggrin.gif

drs i take it you wern't impressed at all with Bathgate today then?

Hip Priest
Bo'ness 2-1 Forfar WE

A really tough battle as expected. Bo'ness started slowly but eventually began to assert themselves and play a bit of football; they led at the half through a terrific Will Snowdon strike from the edge of the area. A close range volley levelled it around the hour mark before a great run from Scott Broon set up the winner with about quarter of an hour to go, Colin Allison flicking the ball over the line from Ross Muir's low, hard cross. United held on grimly for the three points.

As last season, Forfar aren't the best football side, but work hard and tackle hard - I don't think anybody's going to roll them over and, notwithstanding their failure to pick up anything from their first two games, they have a real shot at staying up. Hopefully the same can be said for us now; I reckon we only need to average a point a game from here on in to definitely stay up. In the meantime, we've got a top of the table derby clash to think about next week...

Second time I've seen them this year and they look slow at the back and appear to have nothing up front. I don't understand why they are playing McLaren on the wing when they have two slow 35+ men upfront.

both are 37! It must be the oldest attack in Junior football but saying that, they are good players.

I watched this game yesterday very much tale of two halfs pumphy in first half could have been 4-0 up with the big blonde striker missing a sitter and in second half harthill should have equalised....pumphy strong through the middle with number 5 8 both very good as were there wingers, and the goalkeeper kept them in the game
