I know a lot of yous go to watch Scotland for by your own team. What would yous prefer if you were given the chance?

In my case it would be the Championship and Scottish Premier League football.

The World Cup Finals can wait!

What are you trying to say here?

Might as well be written in Mandarin for all I understand.

Translation please. Tcheucter into English would suffice.

Thanks smile.gif

If you were given the choice of your home town team winning the Championship and gaining promotion OR Scotland qualifying for the World Cup Finals.

What one of these two choices would you pick in this fictional wish?

Its not exactly a one or the other situation, is it?

Club win the league easily. It would last for a whole year at least and i think about my club team 365 days a day (i take the day off on 29th Feb). Scotland winning the world cup would last a summer and then we'd lose our first euro qualifying game and everyone would forget about it.
Haitch
Scotland winning world cup. No question. That does not make me a bad person.

Go to my topic on the Second Division forum, of some hours previous, if you want the intelligible version of the question!

edit to add:

I think you will find it does.

i dont think we'd forget it, but the feelgood factor would be gone.

I'd rather be going to SPL ground every week for at least a year than Scotland to win a tournament during the summer.

If Scotland and Morton were playing on the same day i'd go to the Morton game easiliy.
Cliche Guevara
Same!

Steady now - I never said that!

edit: just to be clear I mean the Ayr game. I hate Morton more than a QOS fan with a grudge against Davie Irons His Own Shirts!

Are we meaning Scotland qualifying for the World Cup or actually winning it?
revolvingduck
Scotland probably, since I've already seen Pars in the SPL recently

10 years since world cup though
Cliche Guevara
You still have that - sweet!

I believe it would be alot different. Fs look at England still rambiling on about 1966.

Aye you can say we're different, we wouldn't ramble on. But, i for one, would say 50 years from now, 'it wasny that when we lifted the World Cup mate' The world cup finals would last a summer, but the memories of Scotland lifting it... would last a lifetime.

What i'd have to do is measure up the chances of each thing happening to see what would mean the most to me at this point in time.

Right now, i'd give my left testacle for Clyde to win the First, and survive in the SPL.
PTFC27
My team winning the league.
partick_twinny
Scotland winning the world cup.

I've seen Jags win the first and second, and though I thouroughly enjoyed it, I'd take the national team winning the world cup. It would be something we can all celebrate with those we usually argue with in the pub or on football forums such as these. Its something you would talk about for the rest of your life, probably. Change the question to 'winning the world cup or winning the SPL' and you may well get a different answer. I am just as much a Scotland fan as I am a Thistle fan, and since I've lived in England have paid even more attention to the national team.
Grant228
Well since ive allready seen Dunfermline in the spl and finished respectively in it i would take Scotland winning the world cup...an experiance like that would last a lifetime.
Stoo61
Is that really the question? Isnt Scotland just qualifying for the World Cup? If it is then PArs winning.

If its Scotland winning the World Cup I would take that, a nation wide party the likes of which that have never been seen, what a binge!

Thats exactly it with me, i'd rather have someone else.
Don't ask me who, i would just rather have someone other than G'Burley.

But if Scotland qualify for the World Cup, i'll be more than happy to admit i was wrong about Burley.

Exactly, Get the feeling the players feel the same way what with so many call offs (Due to injury rolleyes.gif )

Or is it just me? dry.gif

Squiggles92
Exact same... but should the team do well, i'll be more than happy to accept i was wrong.

Morton over any form of international football, played by any side.
Diamonds are Forever
I've been going to Scotland games all my life but recently I've kinda lost interest in the national team and don't really care how we do. I still go to all the games but just don't have the same passion anymore. Not sure why tbh, partly because recently there seem to have been a large number of wee fannies of the ClydeNewcomer variety following Scotland who do my tits in (although Scotland fans in general are arseholes tbh) laugh.gif , but there's other factors too. So Airdrie any day of the week.

We failed to qualify for the last tournament (and many before), and haven't started the next one!

What was the feel good factor, and how could it be lost without playing any competitive games?

The esspeell gets boring very quickly......being in a league you have no chance of winning due to the religious cult of the old firm makes it no fun.

Scotland qualifying for the world cup would be great......bit of a close call.....but the Pars would win. If it were Scotland winning the world cup.....there would be no competition.....Scotland every time.

Scotland winning the World Cup v Pars winning the Scottish Cup? Gawd knows.

More interested in the Pars winning the league than getting back to the premier.......the first division is much more fun.
parsville
I'd rather see my team win the league. I just don't care about international football. I want Scotland to win but thats as far as it goes.
Steve McQueen
I'd take Saints keeping a clean sheet over Scotland winning the world cup at the moment!
EdinburghLivi
SPL football for me. Winning the world-cup seems increasingly unlikely considering we're already 1-0 down in Macedonia.
18-deano-74
If it was Scotland lifting the World Cup, I would take it over anything to do with Morton. However if it was just qualifying, I would choose Morton everytime.

Either way, keep playing like this we will be lucky to finish 2nd in the group. Get a grip Scotland. mad.gif
Toby Fair
Christ, this is irritating to read. The question was about Scotland QUALIFYING FOR THE FINALS, not winning the tournament.

Both now seem ludicrously unlikely, but ANSWER THE QUESTION PEOPLE!
LLD
Probably Scotland getting to the World Cup finals given that it's been a while (and looks like it might be 2014 at the earliest!)

We've won the league in the not too distant past, and getting into the SPL isn't all it's cracked up to be. In fact it's absolutely shite once the novelty wears off.

Bit tetchy, are you not?

I for one would certainly prefer to see Scotland win the World Cup over St Johnstone winning the league.

Ridiculous question, really.

If intended, that's quite a shit insult to be honest. It's pretty obvious Scotland aren't in with a shot at winning the WC either.

Yes I am a bit tetchy - can't think why that might be.

It is a fairly ridiculous question but that gives nobody the right to change it.
If we start that, then society as we know it is pretty certain to disintegrate.

Answer the question set or start another thread - it's the rule. Well it's my rule anyway.

And a fine rule it is too, son. It's not your fault you've been dropped into this distant land full of inbreds and illiterates (present poster not included, obviously). Just bare it for a while, you are destined for better things.

LIVIFOREVER
Livi winning the league would give me greater pleasure than Scotland qualifying for the world cup, have lost interest in Scotland games, usually if we start winning games and get close to qualifying we always feck it up, so it's best never to get remotely enthusiastic about it, it always ends in disappointment.
If Scotland did qualify then that would only serve to disappoint further, there would be hopes getting built up even higher, ready for the thud back down to reality.mellow.gif
