Upthebigshots
Two of the big clubs go head to head tommorow and this game could have a big say on where the title goes at the end of the season.

BATHGATE 11/10: Have had a decent start to the season just pipped by Camelon for the league cup section after a nil nil draw at Carmuirs Park. They have scored a number of goals and after a dissapointing start last week they will be looking for 3 points.

Camelon 7/4: Also of to a dissapointing start but that could be put down to a number of games in a short time. The Mariners have reached the League Cup Final and will go in as favourites. New manager has done a terrific job carrying on from last season and they will go to Bathagte looking for three points.

If anyone has team news please update but i think this one is to close to call, maybe back the draw at 5/2 for value. cool.gif

I'd take a draw. They both lose 2 points.

Played against both in the league cup section.

Bathgate: Put 8 past us. Certainly like to knock the ball about, especially across the back 4. Mcphee and Mcgrillen are dangerous up front and will always look for it at feet. Boy on the wing, think his name is Mclaren (not andy) is also a danger.

Camelon: Took until last 5 mins to go 2-1 ahead when we played them, but after an average first half they bombarded our gaol for 45 mins. There posession was good, but finishing let them down badly.

Think home advantage + there stikeforce should see bathgate scrape it by the odd goal.

P.S Where did you get the odds for this weekends games?

I hope Camelon win. Fvcking hate Bathgate. I hear that Bathgate is one of the few places in the world that when there is a wedding everyone sits on the one side of the church! biggrin.gif

Bathgate v Camelon

Twas my first ever trip to Creamery Park and lets be nice and call it a dump, quite possibly the worst Junior ground I’ve been to that doesn’t play host to Glasgow Perthshire.

Anyhow the game started in front of a crowd of around 100 hardy souls who braved the rain to watch real football instead of prima-donnas prancing around in some foreign climes.

Camelon had the better of the early skirmishes and deservedly took the lead when a free kick from the left was held up by the strong wind and was nodded back across goal where it was prodded home from around 4 yards. With the Mariners on top and looking good they narrowly failed to double their lead when a 20 yard shot skimmed the outside of the post. Bathgate were thrown a lifeline when the away teams Number 11 was sent off for elbowing Graeme Love. 11 quite clearly threw an elbow that connected with the chest of Love and it was disappointing to see the former Stirling Albion man throw himself to the ground whilst clutching his face, the referee decided it was a red card offence and the Falkirk side found themselves a man down. Love was not finished yet and proceeded to spend the next ten minutes in verbal communication with the Camelon bench, Stevie Kerrigan in particular was upset at the antics he’d seen.

Bathgate hit the outside of the post and forced Hutchison into a save but that was it from them as an attacking force in the game as the ten men proceeded to dominate the match. The Thistle Number 2, Fallon I believe, was having a torrid time at right back coping with the attacking wing play and from a throw in threw the ball back to Andy Carlin in the Thistle goal. Alas the throw was too strong, the Camelon Number 10 was lurking and Carlin bricked the challenge leaving 10 with an empty goal to trundle the ball into the net. Carlin was upset and let the Number 2 know, sadly for Carlin this was to be the start of an afternoon of despair as he started flapping at everything and dropping balls left, right and centre.

As the second half drew to a close Camelon continued to attack and one move was brought to a chopping halt by Fallon, surprisingly the referee decided to even things up and sent Fallon packing. A strange decision as Fallon clearly wasn’t the last man and it was 30 yards out so not a clear goalscoring opportunity – looked like one of those “lets level the game up” decisions.

After a scintillating 45 minutes the second half was a disappointment with only a third goal for the Aquatic men livening things up, a long run by the Number 8 was sent across goal where Carlin and the Camelon centre forward proceed to touch the ball to the back post where it was knocked in by one of the substitutes.

Overall it has to be said that Camelon were very worthy winners and that Bathgate were quite simply atrocious, even with a man advantage they looked like they were playing a man short and with a powder-puff attack (McGrillen and McPhee were never in the game), poor goalkeeper and a defence with the turning circle of an oil tanker it looks like being a long season for Willie Hills “Wild Geese”.

Watched Bathgate get humped 2-1 at Bonnyrigg, they were woeful, seems winning the Scottish has gone to their heads, where are all the Bathgate fans now, went rather quite along with the Nitten fans, where are u Nittenblab ?

What Bathgate fans. There are only 2? Must have been 98 Camelon fans at the game. Not like Love to be a moaning faced ersehole.
Sam_Jambo14
I came home from the game today absolutely raging. There are quite simply no excuses for such an incredibly awful performance. Gary Fallon should never have been signed in the first place - he was awful last week and even worse this week.

Paul McGrillen is a lazy wee shite. He does f*ck all every week for Bathgate, and the only reason nobody noticed last season is because he was scoring poachers goals. On that performance we will get pumped in both scottish cups and it may well be embarassing at the end of the season, as that was a showing worthy of relegation.

A pretty honest view Sam.....Was Andy McLaren playing and has he now signed???
juniornews
was Fallon playing instead of Willie Wilson ??
Wilson may be another moaning wee shite but he is a least a decent player ??

When will they learn about signing has been ex seniors
how many have actually been worth the big bucks in there time at Creamery Park ??

whats the odds on relegation for bathgate mellow.gif mellow.gif mellow.gif

Aye it maybe next season bathgate have tae worry about. This is Willie hills last season so I hear, amd the committe have all fallen out with each other
Ronson
Sam Jambo, do you think the team isn't knitting because of team selection or individuals?
Your manager always seems to go for the finished article, no pun intended, but maybe some of your lads having played Senior so long, either don't appreciate the difference when they are in the Juniors, or just that they have reached their sell by date?
Wee Wilson is a terrific full back and a dirty wee b=g$&r. Is he unfit or just not in the managers plans?
Are McPhee, McGrillen and McLaren playing in the same side?
HTG
Bathgate are nobody's mugs. Yesterday's result will hurt a few of their senior players. I'd always thought that the signing policy concentrated mainly on seniors who would know how to get a job done and would be hard to beat without too much coaching. I think that will still be the case. Any talk of relegation is off the mark - they've got too much about them. Poacher or not, arsehole or not, McGrillen will score goals.

Interesting to hear the views on the state of the stadium at Bathgate though. I've always thought this was one area where a fan with money to invest in a club would take a bit of time to work up something that would last after they'd gone. At our level, it's never made sense to me to pour all the money into a player's pocket. When the money dries up you're left with nothing as the players tend not to hang around. Maybe Bathgate were not and are not in a position to do anything but go with the direction Hill wants them to take. They've won the Scottish - something they could never probably have achieved without him. But it would have been good to see a bit of investment around the park too.
Milby
Reason there is no money being put intae the Creamery is they are off to a new ground soon

HTG
First I've heard of it but fair enough. Should have added that this was a superb result for Camelon irrespective of bathgate's flaws on the day.

how come when b/gate get gubbed the supporter changes his name on here.the seasons only two games old ffs

My mistake, Bathgate did not look like probable league winners, they looked flat and at best will finish mid table. As for Camelon they wanted it more and i still expect them to challenge for the league.

speaking to a friend who went to watch bathgate says they were poor on sat and think they have a slight chance of getting relegated this season any thoughts on this i watched them a lot last year and they looked great
Upthebigshots
Going by Saturdays performance i would agree with your mate. Bathgate were woeful and i think they could certainly struggle.
