Right, i need something else to keep me occupied at work now the Raith boards been shut down.
If this has been asked before i don't apologise cause i'm new here and can't be arsed reading your archives.
This is to settle a debate at work, we reckoned the majority of Scottish folk would prefer Scotland to win the world cup than their club get promoted and win the SPL. In England we reckon its the other way around.
So whats the verdict - post yer club teams as well and we'll see if there are any trends - no doubt the OF muppets (wheres the barfing smiley?) will be supporting their own w**ky little pretend teams.
Personally i'd obviously love it if Raith won the league but if given the choice i'd rather Scotland won the world cup

Scotland to win the World Cup.
Scotland to win the world cup. Saints winning the treble would be great but imagine Scotland winning the World Cup. It would be one for the whole country to enjoy and a hell of a party.
Not sure about it being the other way round in England though.

Scotland to win the World Cup. Ayr winning the treble would be great, but more than the approximately three people that turn up at Ayr every week would get to celebrate a Scottish victory.
Actually, if Ayr won the treble, there would suddenly be 60,000 people (59,500 of which currently support Rangers) who will claim to have been season ticket holders at Somerset the whole time.
Me & 2 of my mates got hassled off some moron in a Rangers top in Ayr town centre last week, because we were wearing Ayr tops. In our own town. For the love of.....
Hardly need this pole, the answer is obvious... although the "OF relegated" option was tempting...

Scotland to win World Cup. Although OF relegated is tempting as Kirkcaldy is full of the gloryhunters.

Scotland to win the world cup. it would be the party to end all parties, everyone in the country could join in - even those who don't know berti vogts from berti bassatt (actually bertie bassatt might do a better job...)
all petty rivalries would be put aside for once and we could all just enjoy ourselves

It must just be us Saints that are strange then, Steve. I agree with you, defo Saints to win the treble. St Johnstone mean so, so much more to me than Scotland.

Falkirk to win the treble.
Scotland to win the world cup with a squad full of Well players who had just won the treble and single handedly relegated both the OF.
I'll settle for world cup glory thought, don't wabt to expect too much
Easy one. I'd take FFC beating QoS tomorrow over Scotland in the world cup

If you're not Scottish then fair enough otherwise
BAWBAG!
I knew things were pretty bad at wastefield but if you'd rather take 3 points from a lowlife amateur outfit than see scotland winning the world cup then things must be bleak!
see you for the potential relegation clash on september 11th

Definitely Stirling Albion to win the treble. Which incidentally, is probably more likely than Scotland winning the World Cup.
Club always comes first for me.
Although, that's not to say there wouldnae be tremendous national joi de vivre is Scotland done it, the celebrations would definitely be 100 times better.
But for me personally, I would rather the Albion won the 2nd Division this year than Scotland winning the World Cup.
Club first for me too. Although there's actually 3 cups to be won, I'm not greedy I'd settle for just 2.
OF Relegated would be just as big a party, just without the glory hunters!

A hard one, but for me it would have to be Clyde getting the treble. I would be over the moon with just the Scottish Cup though. European Cup would be a dream!

Scotland winning the World Cup. If the gruesome twosome going bust, rather than just being relegated, was an option I would have chosen that.
Ah, we can dream....

It's a pointless question.
The Old Firm would never be relegated. The SPL would bring in a rule stating that a team starting with C or R would have life membership.
The rest of the SPL would then be offered a large cheque (they could probably be persuaded/bought off for about £5K) to agree the rule change.

I'd have to go with Scotland winning the WC. Any tournament Scotland qualify for, from now on, I'm going to be there, and that would be an unbelievlabe acheivement. One which the whole country could celebrate for years.
East Fife winning the treble would send me into absolute ecstasy, Jesus, finishing 2nd in the 3rd div was bad enough. But then again, we have already done the double!

As have our near Fife neighbours I beleive.
One of the OF beingn relegated would be magic, although it would really only be getting it up them rights I would get, not a true personal satisfaction.

Got to be Scotland winning the WC! Arbroath winniing the treble would be a helluvan achievement, but c'mon, winning the world cup! Id accept Euro Championships as well.
Best case scenario - Scotland beat England in the world cup final!

Definitely Scotland to win the world cup.
If you'd changed the third option to the Old Firm both going bust it might have been a tougher question though.
