Full Version: Ross Donaldson
Can u give me any info on Ross Donaldson ie which clubs hes played for? I know he played for Camelon.
Was that the guy that played up front for the Shire when they were at their lowest ebb?
If so, then the info I have on him was that he was the worst player i've ever seen in my life.

I would wholeheartedly agree there.
From my (scant) information, he came from Rutherglen Glencairn in 2004, played 29 times and scored 3 goals, before returning at the end of the season to from whence he came. Quoted by one writer as a striker 'with the turning circle of the QE2' Ouch!!!
Is this the same Ross Donaldson who started off at Airdrie and then had a season or two at Carluke Rovers? Would be around 30 now if it is?

Dunno about Airdrie but he was at St Mirren aged 16 - 17 though never played 1st team and was also at Camelon at that time. I pick him up at Shettleston in 1999-00 and he then wandered around Shotts, Blantyre, Carluke and Glencairn before his season with the Shire. He went back to Glencairn before joining Forth and Stonehouse. I don't know if he re-signed for this season or not. He's 31.
I'm always surprised when an SFL side signs a Junior who's not an established top division player, especially if they're not young. The likes of Imrie was early 20s and liked playing with Lanark but a player like Donaldson is not going to be up to the standard required. And my jaw fell quicker than a tart's knickers when I heard Stranraer had signed John Osbourne.

He played as a trialist for Pumpherston last satuarday,but cambulang are also interested in him.I think hes looking to see who can give him the biggest signing on fee,your welcome to him Cambuslang.
