Full Version: P&b = Price & Buy
The Pie Shop > Pie and Bovril Notes & Announcements > Pie and Bovril Official Announcements

We now have our own price comparison bit of the site, called Price & Buy (you see what I've done there ?!).

This is our very own pricegrabber portal, so if you're looking to find a keen price on pretty much anything, I'd be grateful if you could give our P&B service a try.

Obviously we will earn commission from click throughs and purchases made through P&B, but you might also save yourself some moola at the same time.

Worthy of a shot I think ?

Thanks for your continued support !

When will it be possible to order our groceries through P&B?

Possibly a free Pie or Bovril with every order over £50?

Yip, it's quite neat. The services offered by P&B continue to grow. We'll be opening our own boozer next, or buying a 3rd division club and turning it into P&B United biggrin.gif

Yip, I am a capitalist at heart. The first million was great, but it's got a bit boring now.

Mind you, if you look up "bovril" on google, this site is in the top ten. Since most of the other links are to do with food scares, this is one of the top sites that is pro bovril - they should be paying you a fortune biggrin.gif

To be honest, and keep this to yourself, if someone offered me a seven figure deal today for P&B I'd probably seriously consider it.

There is an uneasy silence between ourselves and Unilever regarding Bovril I think. They have never contacted us to say we are breaching their copyright, and we've never contacted them to ask them to sponsor the site.

I think we've pretty much reached saturation point with the site advertising to be fair to the point above.

I thought the pricegrabber partnership was a reasonable addition to the site, but if it doesn't work out it will be dropped.

To be pedantic, it is their trademark you are using i.e. "Bovril". Copyright applies to creative works such as novels, poems, songs, etc. Are you aware of the recent case of the woman who was selling knitting patterns on eBay to make specific "monsters" from Dr Who? The BBC, who own the Dr Who trademark, sent her a "cease and desist" letter when they found out. It might seem silly as she was only making a few quid and you can argue she was promoting the series but the law regarding trademarks is such that if you don't defend your trademark you can be deemed to have lost the rights to it.

Why don't you have a comparison of the price of pies and bovrils at football grounds and supermarkets. biggrin.gif
