Full Version: Players To Have Played More Games Than The Set Season

Was thinking last night have any players played in say 37 first division games rather than the 36 prescribed? This may be due to signing for a side who had a postponde game etc.

It must have happened sometime, the only thing I'd maybe say against it is that if a player leaves a club mid-season to go to another in the same league, will he have been a first team regular and have played in every match up to leaving?

Yeah thats what I thought, maybe a player leaving a smaller team for a bigger one?

It could happen to a similar situation to Dimitar Berbatov.

If he hadn't moaned like a bitch and played in Spurs first 3 league games then moved to Man Utd and played every remaining league game he'd end up playing 39 league games instead of 38.

I make it 37 games he played last season - 22 for us and 15 for Hibs.
