Weir wouldn'y be able to hack it over there anyway. Far too old and might take sun stroke.

Need a pair of young legs in there

The obvious replacement. I know Caldwell is not everyone's favourite, but we are not blessed with centre backs, he has now had a few seasons like McManus of European football at club level so best suited to the job. Always happy to see to centre backs who play together at club level making the step up, always helps with a good understanding.

Think some stick of Weir harsh, old yes, but has the experience and knowledge. Although not shedding any tears that he is out.

It gets worse,Jamie Langfield called up to the squad. Here hoping Gordon or McGregor don`t get injured

David Marshall (Norwich City), David Weir (Rangers) and Garry O'Connor (Birmingham City) have withdrawn from the squad. Goalkeeper Jamie Langfield (Aberdeen) and Kirk Broadfoot (Rangers) have been called up.

Surely Caldwell would have started ahead of Weir anyway? unsure.gif

I would imagine so, Weir pulling out is not that big a deal - as long as Caldwell and McManus are fit.

Neither of these two are of any loss whatsoever.

Would he even have made the bench?
