Hibee mate of mine said the rumour around Leith is that a Partick player will be signing for hibs before the window closes for around 90k. He said he thought it was a midfielder/defender, so i reckon it could be Harkins?
to be fair he has come away with some shite in the past though!

90K? Surely bollocks?
If it wasn't for the fact that we're so close to the window shutting and therefore couldn't get a replacement, we'd bite the hand off.
Edit: when you say midfielder/defender, where in defence are Hibs weak? If they're willing to pay 90K (which I don't think they are) for any of our players, it could be Twaddle if they have a left back problem.
They showed some interest in Buchanan before his injury last year, but even then figures being floated around were nothing like 90K. I honestly don't think any of our players would be bought for that much, unless it's Mixu's last throw of the dice. Even then, I'd imagine he'd be more likely to recall Gray in the face of their goal drought.

No idea im just the messanger!although with hibs fans going mental at petrie for not spending(not saying harkins is a big name signing or anything) so you never know...
£90k for Harkins, would be mightily pissed if we sold him for that amount as he is a cracking player !

No chance, St. Mirren offered similar for Harkins & were told where to go.
Double it & add a good bit more & it may make financial & footballing sense for us, if not no chance. Same goes for Twaddle, more like £200k would make sense, givin what keeping us could bring in, by gaining promotion or decent cup run(s) etc.
Tempting offer and I doubt we would get such a high offer again if we rejected it provided this is true, but at the same time I'd like to think we're building a team long term and Harkins would for me be part of that.
I think the board would sell him in a heartbeat for that.
BTW St. Mirren just made an enquiry not an official bid.

I think a couple of Thistle fans have to be realistic. No one is going to pay £200k for any of our players. Whilst that may be their value to us, the market is such that most Scottish clubs at least would instead opt to buy a not quite as good but much cheaper alternative.
Whilst they would probably effectively cost us £200k to replace at a better quality, such a deal is unlikely to happen.
It's more likely that they would go for £50-70k to a mid-table SPL side when there's just 6 months-12 months left on their contracts.
Edit: a bit like Dougie Imrie.

We've already got Gray on loan from them. I'm not sure a young player pissing about in the Hibs reserves on loan to us till Christmas is exactly anywhere near an ideal replacement.

Wouldn't be so sure of that. It wouldn't surprise me if we saw one player leave before the end of the transfer window.
That said, I don't think it will be Harkins to Hibs.

There's one player I'd like to see go, but I don't think anyone would have him.
It wouldn't be such a bad thing to see the youngsters Eaglesham and Little go out on loan for experience either.

Doubt it'd be Twaddle as McCall rates him at about £150k IIRC from what he said at Meet The Manager. Harkins would cost about £150k at least I'd say, McCall thinks he can play at the top level (lower Prem side).

Scott Chaplain is quite young, and a lot of his football has been in the lower leagues and part time.
Whilst Liam Buchanan adapted more quickly, he came from a Second Division team, and arguably it was the step up that could have contributed to his injury.

Ian Maxwells a much more sensible option as a captain.
Maxwell , rock in defence, more vocal, lots of experience.
Harkins, can falter sometimes, sometimes makes stupid passes, tires very easily.
But to be honest thats me just listing some of maxwells good point, and harkins bad points. Think both players are bloody brilliant though.

The O.P seemed to imply it was the raw deal at £90k.
Others have since suggested that making Gray's loan permanent might "seal" the deal.
That said, I don't see him going. Harkins is worth £100k to us, but no one is going to pay that.
