I wouldn't get too excited if I was a Celtic supporter

Interesting that there's no explanation *why*

Then again, with the Huns going backwards, you don't need any new signings to compete domestically at least
No8.
'Going Backwards'...Mendes,Davis,Edu,Bougherra,Lafferty,Velicka and Beasley and McGregor fit again. Aye right enough Rangers are in dire straits indeed laugh.gif

Who mentioned world class? They are though better than the signings across the City and that is the point here. As for being shite...We will see come May how Shite they are. So far things are looking promising after earlier set backs.

laugh.gif Its amazing how they think those players are good. Murray has done well in the mind games this year. laugh.gif

Only one that is decent is Mendes, and even he can be inconsitent.

How is life in the 3rd division. After the heady heights of division 2 last year it must be a bit of a come down tongue.gif.

As for Champions elects comments..2 names for you Patrick and McCourt tongue.gif They reckon he is the new George Best in much the same way Mark Burchill is the new Kenny Dalglish

Mendes looks like a player. At 29, though, he's hardly a long-term prospect. I dont think any of the other signings are up to much.

The bottom line is you've lost your best two players from last season (Hutton and Cuellar), your remaining best player (Bazza) is yet another year beyond his peak, if he ever plays again, and the rest of your squad is aging like old cheese. Rangers are worse than they were last season. Plus, you're skint!

I would have liked Celtic to buy a left back, but some of the signings we've made should be great. Samaras will score goals, Crosas looks promising, Maloney is a star, and Loovens might be the assured centre-half we've been looking for. Even without a new left-back, Celtic are better than they were last season. Oh, yeah, and we're loaded!

Not one single Rangers signing fills me with any kind of trepidation. Not one.

Mendes is a good footballer but he's merely someone who can actually pass the ball. Amazing how Rangers fans actually herald a ball playing midfielder as the way forward. We've had Nakamura, Hartley and even Donati for a while now, players who are comfortable in possesion and who can get it forward. The fact that Rangers now have one and they're heralding him as a genius says it all really.

One tackle from Scott Brown and Mendes will disappear biggrin.gif

Maloney is no better than what you had and is on a par with Beasley.
He will be back-up.
Crosas wasn't even wanted by your manager it seems.

Maloney or Lafferty? I'd take Lafferty

Crosas or Aaron? I'd take Aaron

Loovens or Bougherra? (on last seasons championship) I'd take Bougherra.

"the next G.Best" or Edu? Well "the next G.Best" couldn't get a game in the English League Two. So if Edu is even half decent, he'll be a better player.

Which leaves us at Pedro Mendes, the best player to have been bought this window by either of the OF, and the best Midfielder in Scotland.

Samaras is also a very average player, nothing special that I've ever seen from him.

Steven Davis, played in the Premiership, and played superb during his time at Villa, talent doesn't fade, and bossed the game between Scotland and N. Ireland.

Velicka, can score a goal, you lot should know that.

Miller, sh*te, Walter Smiths waste of money this season (last seasons was Whittaker).

IMO, a fully fit Rangers side is better than a fully fit Celtic side.

Of course, I'd have prefered to see us sign a proper right winger, but Novo seems to play well there vs you lot, so he shall do for this season.

Hartley, Donati and Nakamura couldn't lace Mendes's boots in term of passing ability, and eye for a pass.

Please take your blue tinted goggles off. Lafferty and Maloney are different styles of player. You can't compare. Although Maloney did win player of the year up here.

You haven't even seen the boy Aaron play and you say you'd rather have him than crosas. Judged on what?

You've seen Boughera play 2 games. How many games did you see of him last season? Or Loovens for that matter.

Edu has come from a league that Kenny Deuchar is playing a blinder in.

If steve davis was superb in the premiership then why is he at rangers?

I think you should start watching games rather than judging players on paper

Then come back and let us know

And Nakamura doesn't hide in OF games? OK he scored that great goal but every other game he has been a passenger. As for Brown Kicking Mendes rolleyes.gif He will have to get close enough to him 1st!!

BTW Donati has not looked comfortable since moving to Celtic whether in possession or not!! Hartley is certainly 1 i admire but given a choice Mendes or Hartely it is no contest...2 different players but miles apart in talent and vision.

1) Davis was great during his time at Villa, and SAF tipped him to become a great player, he moved to Fulham and was played out of position and dwindeled a fair bit.

2)I've seen Aaron play for Spain quite a few times (including there recent u-19 championships where he picked up player of the tournament). He has also been given the captaincy of the u20's, which doesn't happen to players who aren't good.

3)I had only seen Charlton a few times on Sky last season, and Loovens the same, but from what I seen Bougherra seemed a better player.

4)I compared Lafferty/Maloney, due to the fact both have been operated out wide, Burnley used Lafferty on the left-wing last season.
