I have been told by a reliable source that Kevin Moon (of St Johnstone) is soon going to be back from long term injury and is set to go on a loan deal to a smaller club for a few months to gain match practice. (Perhaps a lower league english club)

I seriously doubt a player like Moon would go out on loan to a lower league club in England. It's a decent standard of football and it's usually established players such as Kirk, Deuchar, Rowson, etc, you see making that kind of move.

If he were to go out on loan then I'd imagine it would be to a Scottish club. Perhaps he'll hook up with Jim Weir at Montrose.

That would be my thought also,

Haha Montrose FC we are the feeder club now.

The reason i say maybe an english club, is that he has to make regular trips to a doctor in london, as he has some kind of thing that holds his hips together in place, and he needs to get it tightened every week.

There would be absolutely no point in Moon going out on loan to a Second or Third Division club. He doesn't need experience of that level, he's been there and done that, he needs experience at this level. It's the same arguement as folk claiming Alan Gow would go out on loan to a First Division club. Totally pointless.

Looks a decent enough prospect for the future

not being funny but could you not do with him atleast on the bench when he returns?

So what happens to him then Kev? Last season's cameo appearance aside, McInnes doesn't seem to deem him decent enough for a plce in your squad. There's no chance of him going out on loan to another First Division team, so that would point to England. Do you think he's good enough now, or a decent enough prospect, for a team down there to take him?

He didn't start a league game under Coyle but started 10 of McInnes' 28 matches and I don't imagine there were many occasions he wasn't in the matchday XVI. He's injured at the moment hence his non-involvment and hasn't had much of a pre-season. McInnes also took time to single him out for praise within days of getting the job, he really likes Moon I think.

Thinking about it, he could maybe do with a month down a level to get some match fitness, in much the same way Lee Wilkie went out on loan from United to get up to speed after an injury. We've got a couple of closed door matches planned over the break and the hope is he'll be able to play a part in those.

Well, that's me told then. smile.gif
