Well that's it, once tomorrow has gone those's the first step of the new season underway before players meet up for there International Duties or have a break for those that are away.
How has your team performed so far this season???? Looking better than you expected or looking worse???? Any of your new signings looking good or worse than ever before???? I think you get the point.
Briefly sum up how your team have done so far, just out of interest

Not too bad, while not setting the world alight with silky football. 2nd division reality.

Arbroath are ticking away quite the thing! Usual up's and down's, losing to the Forfar fermers in the CC was a sore one but we thank Euan Norris for that and the 2 points dropped at P'heid and the point lost against EF! Great performance/effort v ICT gives us renewed hope for a good season.
Oh you said briefly............

Been a good season were ive actually not been to bothered if weve lost as the football weve been playing at times has been attacking and a joy to watch (except East Fife) so im looking forward to the rest of the season and really hope we get Bryan Scott back soon as with him we could be a good outfit in this league and at the moment is the only thing were really missing.

Purring with contentment. Sure we haven't had all the best results, but from what I've seen of us (EF apart), we are light years better than last season, and a joy to watch, regardless of the results.

We're shite and utterly toothless, but we are still picking up points. Signs of a championship winning side? Time will tell. With our squad being threadbare and lacking any serious goal threat (Smith is only a short term loan), who knows?

hoping that with Smith and Weir being first choice it might make Waidlaw and Bryce more determined to prove a point when they do play, hopefully the healthy competition will produce some goals.

Probably the sign of a team who have played ten-man Queens Park, and Stranraer (last kick winner) at home!

I think we look a lot better than last year.
The ball is on the ground more than it is in the air and we have scored some very well worked goals.

To be honest, I think Smith is the only striker we have who looks likely to grab us goals. I've been a quite a critic of Weir (nothing personal),he tries, but he just isn't really up to it. Bryce hasn't looked like offering us anything that Weir isn't able to when coming off the bench so far either.
I've not seen enough of Wardlaw upfront to comment yet, but I think he's due a chance. Not going to happen if our injuries don't shore up mind, I'd imagine we'll put him out on the right tomorrow.

Best start in years.
That said we are pretty much ok in defense and attack is now ok'ish with Brian Prunty now on song after an indifferent start against Raith, bit worried about Williams injury though. The Midfield needs some major re-working. Aitken, (our midfield play maker, hic!

) I am sorry to say, has turned out to be a bit of a turkey so far. Don't think Ayr are really capable of playing an effective flat-4 with what they have right now, so let me put this one up for some hopefully +ve criticism ..... How's about they try a Diamond M/F with Keenan in front of the defense, Stevenson in behind the attack and Agnew (a natural winger) as one wide-man and the other wide-man = Boris (don't really know on that berth, you choose). OK, I hear you say, 'hole in the midfield', well what's new? Central midfield has been missing for ages so why not go with another system ans see if that works better, its worth a try imo. I think tomorrow's game against QP would be an ideal time to try another midfield formation like this one.

We need a player like Weir whos prepared to work his socks,chase,work/harry defenders as theres no-one else that does it.Goalscorer...No

I find it amazing the number of people who think Weir should be dropped. He has been outstanding so far this season.
On the whole I'm content with our start. We've played some nice stuff against QP and showed we can win when playing terribly last week. I think we've improved from last season and will definitely be involved in a title challenge this season imho.

Yes, we do need a striker who will haggle defenders and chase everything, but I'd rather have one who at least looks like he might get a goal. I think Wardlaw should be given a shot upfront.
Too often Weir destroys his hard work by losing the ball easily and bottling it in front of goals when he gets a chance. I don't know what AllanJM reckons, but that doesn't constitute "fantastic" in my book.

Not as good as we would have hoped or would have thought, probably a few too many changes and new players brought in over the summer has upset the balance and assuredness we had last season!!!
But there are signs it is starting to come together, we're unbeaten away from home in all competitions this season,(so that looks good for today

) so not as bad as the doomsayers would have us, but really could be better!!!

as with KK, a stuttering start, but from what people are telling me from home, we're beginning to gel. As most of us said, we would not walk the league, and it has been a sharp learning curve.
