Agreed, he has looked good whenever he has played and thought he had a great game last night.
Hopefully he will play on Sat and GITRU the TON.

Seriously?

Wouldn't say "outstanding", but he's been disciplined and solid in the tackle. I've not seen any of the "It's ma baw" carry on at free kicks and corners that Morton fans warned about either.
With Brown coming in, he might struggle to get a start from now on, but I'm happy with his contribution so far.
He was certainly outstanding last night, along with the rest of the team.

Are you sure it's not an imposter masquerading as Scott McLaughlin?

No fishing trips.
I think Kenny has identified that McLaughlin has a good engine and has deployed him in midfield to hustle and harry the opposition at every opportunity. So far he has done this to good effect especially last night where the Hearts midfield were given no time on the ball when they came into our half.
He hasn't been let anywhere near a free kick - perhaps on Morton fans advice

but his short passing has been fine if not spectacular. Sometimes players just need a change of club/role to inspire more confidence and their overall gane improves as a result i.e. Roberts when he left us for the Pink Panther 11
Same with russell. Kenny black seems to be getting the best out of him. I know its only 4 games into the new season but after what has been said with him, I have been pleasantly surpised to say the least.

Well fair play.
I just couldn't grasp how a 3 yard pass could be misplaced 9 times out of 10. Then his set-pieces but lets not go into that.
I can see him playing a blinder against us on Saturday now.

Sometimes it is the manager and what role he gives the player and the confidence he has in the player. A player low on confidence with a manager who isn't giving good guidance can make a player seem worse. Also when a player tries too hard- always wanting the ball he puts himself in a position to be moaned at!
How many times have we seen a player do rubbish in one team, but move and fit in better looking like a new player?
FWIW I think McLaughlin is effective in mopping up behind a midfield. Last time I saw him at Morton last season he was O.K, but looked like a player low on confidence, hence the inability to make passes. I also felt he tried too hard, and should have taken a back seat at times, been the un-noticed player, rather than putting himself in a position for criticism.

I always liked McLaughlin at Livi, and it was typical of Lambert to let go a decent player to replace them with all the shite he brought in, he let go some of our best and most popular players. He was a good player, a hard worker and unfortunately a target of the Livi Boo Boys. It was a shame he never really settled at Morton, but with a decent manager, he is a skilled player and a hard graft midfielder, just the type you need in this league.

If he's improved so be it, but I don't miss him.

It doesn't surprise me he's started well, but after the initial honeymoon period he'll be a waste of space. Infact you'd be better with just the space there rather than have him in it.

McLaughlin was always unconvincing at best for us, even in the second division. He never look like being a goalscorer either (not for his lack of trying). Whatever he does for Airdrie won't change this.
