Full Version: Fc Nordsjaelland Lay On Free Buses For Queens Fans
The Pie Shop > The Cups > Scots in Europe
KingfaetheSooth
What a superb gesture with possible rail delays, that our Danish hosts FC Nordsjaelland have laid on 12 free buses to take the 800 or so Queens fans from the centre of Copenhagen and back for the game at Farum stadium. Well done to those at QOSFC and FCN who have arranged this! It makes sense for security and logistical reasons too. I'll be certainly paying a wee trip to their club cafe and shop to spend a few Kroner! biggrin.gif

Superb! Extremely kind gesture and by the looks of things it gets you there a good 20 mins quicker than the train! biggrin.gif

Great stuff, although I have already put my name down for a private bus with a few others and are shelling out £18.00. sad.gif

Superb gesture, but I will be arriving at Copenhagen airport 15 minutes before they leave Copenhagen city centre!

Hopefully I will be able to get the bus back though.

You're cutting it a bit fine to get to the game are you not? 2:45pm at Copenhagen Airport (which is about 20km the "wrong" side of the city for Farum. It'll take you at least an hour realistically from landing to the stadium even if you went straight there without dumping bags wherever it is you are staying. Hopefully all will be well but certainly doesn't leave much latitude for any flight delays!

It was the best I could find. I'm traveling alone and couldn't afford/didn't want the hassle of a trip down south and an overnight stay for a flight from Manchester or London etc.

Edited to add it is actually 1:45pm I arrive at Copenhagen airport, that hour could be crucial as you mention.

Our flight doesn't arrive in Copenhagen until 4.35pm! I'm worried now! sad.gif

Oh that is going to be cutting things tight. What times the kick off again?

UK time or Danish time?

Either way it could be tight. Do you need to check-in at a hotel when you arrive? If not I would suggest from Copenhagen Airport getting the train (takes about 15 minutes apparently) to Copenhagen and then getting straight on a train to Farum which should be direct and take about 50-60 mins. Apparently the ground is 10-15 minutes walk from there which I'm sure could be sprinted in emergencies!

For those arriving late, like myself, the good news is the stadium has a bar and drinks are served inside the ground. Purely for the benefit of easy nerves and loosening vocal chords obviously! laugh.gif

Edited to add, kick off is 19:00 Danish time, which is 18:00 GMT.

Thats Danish time. We have a car booked from the Airport as soon as we get off the plane so hopefully we won't be late. That all depends on the flights being on time though! Heres hoping!

Due to UEFA Cup rules the bar inside the ground won't be serving alcohol (non-alcoholic beer only). There is a beer tent being laid on outside though which undoubtedly WILL be serving real stuff.

That's cutting it incredibly fine. A car at least means you don't have to check in anywhere and drop luggage but your still needing to get off a plane, pick up the car and drive about 40 miles in a strange country in two hours even supposing the plane is on time.

If the plane is on time you'll probably make it but it'll be tight with no build up.

It only takes a daft plane delay for you to miss the game though. We sat on tarmac for 45 minutes going on holiday this summer because one of the seat belts had broken (and the plane wasn't even full, they could just have moved seat!).

Best of luck! Hope it all works out for you.

I read that as free beer for some reason sad.gif

This whole trip just sounds better and better for those able to go.

Haha, wrong!

We are currently operating on British Summer Time, we only use GMT over the winter months smile.gif

I feel worryingly satisfied with myself that I managed to catch someone out.

yep and only 38 minutes after someone else had corrected him! tongue.gif

Yes, I know, but it was my trap and I wanted the glory of it all - I just glossed over the previous post, who didn't correct him as well as I did.

Good gesture and i am sure the QoS fans will do us Scotland proud. (No digs please)
