The Pie Shop > The Cups > Scots in Europe
QOS1919
Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary have issued the following advice to traveling Queen of the South football fans:

Approximately 800 Queen of the South supporters are expected to travel to Denmark
Close working relationships have been set in place involving Queen of the South FC, FC Nordsjaelland, Uefa, D&G Police, Foreign and Commonwealth Office in Copenhagen and the Danish Police authorities in respect of the forthcoming match.
Supporters are reminded that they are ambassadors not only for Queen of the South but for also for Scotland and are asked to be on their best behaviour at all times.

Although Denmark is a fairly safe country to visit, personal safety should be paramount at all times and extreme care should be taken to safeguard passport, match tickets and any valuables.

The Danish Police authorities are relaxed about the match and look forward to welcoming Queen of the South FC and their supporters. The FC Nordsjaelland Police Liaison officer, Danish Police Chief Rune Hamann expects local supporters to enjoy the visit to Denmark and hopes the match goes well. He expects local supporters to enjoy the attractions of Copenhagen and the surrounding area but points out that anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated in any manner.

Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary will be represented in Denmark by Chief Inspector Mickey Collins (in keeping with Uefa conditions) and is looking forward to the event. He said: “Queen of the South Supporters are welcomed throughout Scotland and are well known for their colourful and vocal support for their team.

“I would expect the impeccable behaviour witnessed at Hampden Park in May and in again in Airdrie last week to continue and I am sure that any Doonhamers traveling to the match will be a great advantage to the team and a great advert for the Dumfries area.”

Queen of the South Chairman Mr David Rae acknowledged the good working relationship established between his club and FC Nordsjaelland and encouraged local supporters to get behind the Queens. He said: “Queen of the South are delighted to be in Europe and we are all looking forward to the tie in Denmark. I expect great support against FC Nordsjaelland and would ask all local supporters to get behind the team but to work carefully with the Danish police authorities to ensure the great reputation of the famous Queen of the South is not compromised in any way.”
Supporters are also advised that the contact telephone number for the British Embassy in Denmark is 0045 35 44 52 00.
