I honestly don't mind if we take a chance now and again and it does not work out, but not too often and not at this price, black mark for Strachan

Very true.

A couple of years down the line the revisionists will be making out that it was the bigots that forced him out.

Apart from an easy hat trick against the Midden and a couple of goals against Der Hun it never worked out, but he was up for a laugh with the fans at least tongue.gif That completely justifys his wage.

He might be off the wage bill but, like Juninho, that probably cost well over a million pounds.

Cheaper than still having him there gathering dust, I'm sure. One hefty wage page better off on a week-to-week basis

What did Strachan say about him?

My biggest memory was Barry Wilson skinning him at Caley Stadium. Having said that, surely he could offer more than Donati or Brown in the middle of the park? huh.gif

He said he would never play for us again as he didn’t fit into Strachans system. A more laughable reason you couldn’t get.

He didn't play him because he had no positional sense at all and ran about like a headless chicked ( yes that phrase again). Who could forget his brilliant ball control at Old Trafford in the CL were he cost 1 if not 2 goals.

Was a good buy originally but it didn't work out. Time to move on, better late than never.

Graveson is no worse a player than Sno, Donati or in the form he is in now, Scott Brown. There must have been more to the relationship than we know

Not really shameful, Every single Celtic fan would have wanted him to sign and it was a major coup for Celtic. They wouldn't and shouldnt have done anything differently. Not their fault he automatically became shit as soon as he pulled on the green and white hoops, maybe he just wanted to fit in with his teammates.

Nice big wage freed up

Every high-profile signing is a risk - most Premiership clubs have an expensive flop on their staff , just the nature of the modern game with the huge influx of foreigners . Remember Rangers signing policy in the 90's -' every fiver Celtic spend.....' . They signed a huge amount of flops from van Vossen , Basile Bole , Flo , Bo Anderson etc . The OF flops attract more criticism cos they (the flops) have a higher profile in Scotland than they would down south . Graveson will be just an average earner at Everton & if he fails to make an impression he will soon be forgotten but in Scotland we'll be talking about him for years - same as Bo Anderson etc . The sooner Celtic are in a European league of some description the better - at the moment it's mostly just euro-trash ,that no-one else wants , that come to Scotland .

Canny say I'm particularly keen on any euro league or chmpionship/premiership/etc etc, getting 6 games against some of the biggest teams in the world is a great reward for playing in the SPL

I see that there is a suggestion about Gravesen psychological state beinmg banded about, if true I hope he gets that sorted, albeit he's walking away wityh millions of our money

The Champions League & UEFA Cup are expanding almost annually ( if you chip in the qualifiers) so IMO it is inevitable that there is going to be a euro league , pre-seasons are getting shorter & eventually somethings got to give - my money is on domestic football being phased out for the top euro clubs . As for Tommy , best of luck to him , at least ,despite his failings as a player , he always gave 100% and seems genuinely disappointed it didn't work out - not his fault football clubs are making average players instant millionaires.

Hindsight is a great thing but Gravesen looked made for the scottish game.
If WGS gave him the same chance as Donuti it could have worked out.

Yeh, I have tae say though I thought Gravesen should have had a better time there. I would have taken him at the Gers nae bother.
I know some people say he is indisciplined and a headless chicken but he made Everton and Denmark tick on many an occasion. Strange one that little episode at Parkheid! huh.gif

According the The Herald this morning he got £1.2 million as a pay off
